ON THE MOVE: Exchange Moves Dominate as Citadel Grabs BAML Exec

Jonathan Yalmokas has resigned as Bank of America Corp's head of prime brokerage in the Americas to lead an equity financing business at Royal Bank of Canada, a person familiar with the move said. Yalmokas will start at RBC's New York office in September in a bid to expand its financing business for investment managers, according to the person, who was not authorized to discuss the information publicly. RBC spokeswoman Hannah Sloane confirmed that Yalmokas would join the bank in September. Yalmokas had joined Bank of America Merrill Lynch in 2011 from UBS Group AG, where he also worked in a role providing investment services to hedge funds. He resigned from the bank last week, the person said.

HKEX appointed Roland Chai as Managing Director, COO of its Clearing Division and Head of Clearing Risk Solutions.  He reports to Calvin Tai, HKEX's Joint COO and Head of Clearing.

FCA chairman Griffith Jones confirmed plans to depart in March 2018.

Siebert Cisneros Shank & Co., LLC, one of the nation’s most prominent minority- and woman-owned investment banks, announced that former New York City Housing Authority Chairman and CEO John Rhea, a 30-year investment banking professional and corporate executive, has joined the firm and will be President of the Corporate Finance and Capital Markets division, further expanding one of the company’s top growth areas. From 1997-2009,  Rhea was a managing director and investment banking group head at JPMorgan Chase & Co. and later Barclays Capital (formerly Lehman Brothers).  

Citadel Securities has named the former co-head of Bank of America Merrill Lynch's electronic equities trading business in Europe to the board of its business in the region. Tony Walker has joined Citadel Securities’ European arm as an independent non-executive director, a spokeswoman confirmed.  Walker departed BAML in October last year, a move that left Natan Tiefenbrun at the helm of the bank’s electronic equities business in Europe.

Warsaw Stock Exchange appointed seven members of the Supervisory Board of the exchange of a new term of office. Marek Dietl appointed as president of GPW management board. He currently serves as Economic Advisor to the President of Poland.

Market veteran Robert Hegarty has been named as an Advisor at Olmstead Associates. Heagrty is charged with providing strategic guidance and advice to Olmstead on the execution of its data centric consulting services model. He will also work closely with Olmstead's CEO and management team, helping to cultivate key relationships with senior executives in the Investment Management and Asset Servicing industries.
