Nasdaq Alum McDermott- Holland Joins Consultancy

Ex-Nasdaq vice president Mary McDermott-Holland has joined financial consultancy iGate as vice president sales and client services.

McDermott-Holland, a 30 year professional, will focus on iGate’s Boston- and New York-based clients. iGATE is a multinational company that provides consulting, technology and business process outsourcing services to global customers in the capital markets.

“I will be working in the firm’s banking and financial services side,” McDermott-Holland told Traders Magazine. “Having grown up in the securities industry and in that model, this is a fit yet from a different perspective.”

Her goal is to make her financial services clients’ operations more efficient through cost management of their operations, such as in data management and cleansing. She added that she will be working with a lot of the firms she has had experience with in the past, such as market clearing services and the public exchanges.

McDermott- Holland was most recently at Nasdaq OMX where she was vice president of transaction services. She joined the exchange in March 2010 and left in January 2012.

While there, she managed the institutional investor relationships of the exchange’s U.S. Transaction Services business acting as the liaison to the Institutional Traders Advisory Council as well as representing NASDAQ OMX at industry conferences and events. She reported to Eric Noll, Executive Vice President of NASDAQ OMX Transaction Services.

McDermott-Holland also spent 28 years as a director and trading manager at Mellon Capital Management, which acquired Franklin Portfolio Associates in January 2009.

She has served the industry in many capacities including past Chairman of the Security Traders Association, President of the Boston Securities Traders Association, Board Member of the Boston Stock Exchange, member of the New York Stock Exchange Institutional Traders Advisory Committee and Allocation Committee, member of Trader Forum’s Advisory Committee, member of the Investment Company Institute’s Equity Markets Advisory Committee and was the founding Chairman of NASDAQ’s Institutional Traders Advisory Committee.
