Evercore has announced that Mark Hibbert has joined the firm’s Equities business as a senior managing director in equity trading, serving as a senior sales trader, based in New York. Hibbert brings more than 25 years of industry experience across equities, derivatives, ETFs, convertible securities and special situations. Most recently, he led the cross-asset execution desk within equities at Goldman Sachs, covering many of the industry’s leading hedge funds and asset management firms. He was also responsible for the desk’s strategy, client coverage and profit growth. Prior to Goldman Sachs, he held senior roles in trading and sales trading at Deutsche Bank and UBS.
Cboe Global Markets has hired Julie Bauer as Senior Vice President, Head of Government Relations, effective May 19, 2026. According to a press release, Bauer will lead Cboe’s global engagement and advocacy efforts with regulators, policymakers, and industry stakeholders, while helping to advance its long-term strategy. Bauer joins Cboe from OCC, the world’s largest equity derivatives clearing organization, where she served as Chief External Relations Officer. In that role, she led engagement with congressional and regulatory policymakers, directed advocacy for the U.S. Securities Markets Coalition on behalf of the listed options industry, and oversaw external communications. She also managed OCC’s investor education initiatives, including The Options Industry Council (OIC). Prior to OCC, Ms. Bauer served as Senior Vice President of Government Relations at FINRA and previously led government relations for the Chicago Board of Trade.
Citigroup has announced a series of senior appointments within its Investor Services business, according to an email sent to Traders Magazine. Hemant Bhide joined Investor Services in May as Head of the Sovereign Wealth Funds and Central Banks segment, based in Boston. Bhide most recently served as Interim Head of the Global Capability Center at Charles Schwab and previously was a partner at PwC focused on strategic institutional clients. Sean Brumble will join later this month as Head of the Asset Managers segment, where he will lead global client strategy for asset managers. He joins from BNY, where he managed relationships with large global investment managers and led senior coverage teams across sales and relationship management. Dermot Finnegan will join Citi in a newly created role as Head of Strategic Initiatives – Alternatives within Fund Services, based in New York. Finnegan joins from BNY, where he most recently served as Managing Director and Global Head of Fund Accounting, after previously leading private market services and real estate solutions businesses. Patricia Hostin will join Citi in July as Head of Securities Finance, overseeing agency lending, collateral management and liquidity solutions products. She joins from State Street, where she was Global Head of Agency Lending, and previously spent around two decades at BlackRock in securities lending and financial resource management roles.
Coatue Management, an American technology-focused investment management firm, has hired Colin Cortes as head of trading and risk, according to LinkedIn. Cortes joins the firm with more than a decade of experience across hedge funds and sell-side trading. Most recently, he spent more than eight years at Junto Capital Management as a trader, where he focused on portfolio execution and trading operations.
Jonathan Carter has joined FIA Tech, a futures industry technology provider, in the newly created role of Chief Product Officer, a global role based in London. According to a press statement, Carter joins FIA Tech from Goldman Sachs, where he had a 24-year career within Prime Services and Global Markets engineering functions, including Listed and OTC Derivatives, Margin, Prime Clearing and Securities Lending. In his most recent Managing Director role, he led Listed and OTC Derivatives Clearing Engineering, Margin Engineering, and Clearing House Data Engineering.
Abaxx Technologies has appointed Dr. Jeff Currie as Executive Co-Chairman of Abaxx Markets, according to a press release. Currie has served as an independent director of Abaxx since 2023. In connection with his expanded role, Dr. Currie will also serve as Senior Advisor to the boards of Abaxx Exchange and Abaxx Clearing.
