TMX Group Names Ex ITG Exec as New President and CEO, Equities

TMX Group, Canada’s largest exchange operator, has hired a new chief executive officer for its equities division.

Nicholas Thadaney, a former ITG Canada officer, has joined the Great North-based company as president and CEO, global equity capital markets, effective September 1, 2015, according to a statement from the company.
Thadaney, a veteran with 25 years of experience, was most recently with ITG Canada Corp, where he served for 15 years as its chief executive officer with responsibility for managing all aspects of the its business.

Nick brings extensive business, leadership and client development experience, and we are excited to welcome him to our team to help drive this historic transformation of TMX.”

Thadaney, who will report to Eccleston, will be responsible for all of TMX Group’s equity listing and trading activity.

Thadaney’s new role replaces the role previously held by Kevan Cowan, president TSX Markets and group head of equities.
