Lou Matrone joins Oracle Financial Services as a business development executive. Matrone, a 13-year veteran, spent the last two years as a sales trader at JonesTrading.He began his career as head of over-the-counter trader at Southwest Securities for six years, before moving on to positions at Pulse Trading, Empire Financial and Investment Advisor, where he was director of trading.

 


 

Richard Johnson recently joined Societe Generale. He now reports to Tim Gee in the U.S. and Richard Hills in London. Johnson has been in the business 11 years. He will focus on quantitative electronic services sales and trading activities. He comes from Liquidnet U.S., where since 2007 he was responsible for the product management and marketing of its algorithmic trading services, including portfolio trading, trade-cost analysis and analytics. Prior to his time at Liquidnet, Johnson helped found Miletus Trading, a U.S. specialist in algorithmic trading and one of the first brokers to enter this market segment, where he set up and led their electronic sales trading activity. Before that, he was at Barra and ITG.

 


 

Lou Orlando and Mark Neenan join MKM Partners as sales traders and executive directors. Orlando, a 30-year veteran, joins from the Benchmark Co. and covers accounts from the firm’s Boston office. Neenan, a 27-year veteran, joins from Stifel Nicolaus, where he spent 13 years. Jordan White also joins as an executive director in event-driven sales and trading. White, an 18-year veteran, has worked at Jefferies & Co. and Morgan Stanley in a similar role. All report to Jonathan Carr, who heads sales trading.

 


 

Anthony Barchetto has been promoted to head corporate strategy at Liquidnet Holdings Inc., and now oversees strategic initiatives and new business development for the firm. He also joins Liquidnet’s leadership team. Barchetto, who came to Liquidnet in 2006, was previously chief operating officer of U.S. equities and was responsible for strategic planning and operations. He also worked as product manager for Liquidnet’s core trading application and worked within the corporate strategy group before being promoted to head the department. Earlier in his career, he worked at Citi for Lava Trading and at Knight Trading Group.

 


 

Marco Pellinijoins wholesaler Surge Trading as managing director to oversee trading operations. Pellini, an 18-year veteran, was most recently a vice president in business development at optionsXpress. The bulk of his career was spent at E*Trade Capital Markets, where he was a vice president in trading and as a director of trading and market structure, before rising to the position of president and chief operating officer in 2002.

 


 

Tim Casey joins Cabrera Capital Markets as a vice president and senior sales trader. Casey, a 20-year veteran, has spent most of his career in sales trading, except for three years on the buyside at Standish, Ayer & Wood. He was previously at NavPoint, where he spent three years. Casey, a past president of the Boston Security Traders Association, reports to George Dychton, who heads Cabrera’s equity sales.

 


 

Dan Gordon joins Rafferty Capital Markets as a senior sales trader. Gordon, a 13-year veteran, will focus on growing the firm’s institutional equity sales and trading desk through special situation and agricultural operations research. He spent his previous two years at Murphy & Durieu, after eight years as a director in UBS’s broker-dealer sales group. He reports to Shawn Weadock, head of over-the-counter trading.

 


 

Direct Access Partners brought on four sales and trading pros from the institutional brokerage arm of Kellogg Partners.

Kevin Butler, an 18-year veteran, joins as a managing director and senior trader. He is joined by three institutional sales people who report to him. Anne Schnuriger, an 18-year veteran, and Thomas Maiden, 16-year veteran, both join as vice presidents. William Sullivan, a 16-year veteran, joins as a senior vice president in sales. Butler, who led the desk at Fleet Trading and was a managing director at Spear, Leeds & Kellogg, reports to DAP chief executive and founder Ben Chinea.

 


 

Janice Morgan Hilsman joins INTL Trading in its trading desk supervision group. Hilsman, a 22-year veteran, has spent time on the buyside at AEGON-Great Companies, Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association and Pershing’s Global Trading. She has also worked as a sales trader at Merrill Lynch and the Malachi Group specializing in international equities. Hilsman served as treasurer of the Securities Traders Association of Florida between 2005 and 2010, and the Georgia Securities Association from 2002 to 2004.

 


 

 

Patty Kevin-Schuler joins BOX Options Exchange as vice president of sales and marketing. Schuler, a 25-year veteran, came from the Chicago Board Options Exchange, where she spent nearly seven years as director of business development for the CBOE and CBOE Stock Exchange. Schuler reports to Alan Grigoletto, BOX’s senior vice president of business development. Schuler is president of the Security Traders Association of Chicago for 2011-12.

 


 

First New York Securities added 11 equities and 4 options traders.

In equities, Ken Lissak joins as a sales trader. Lissak, a 30-year veteran, was a partner at AmTech Capital and held positions at LRL Capital, Kadem Capital and SAC Capital. Michael Conway joins as a trader and portfolio manager. Conway, a 20-year veteran, was formerly managing director of the Octagon division of GFI Securities and was also head of emerging markets trading at Bear Stearns.

Also joining First New York’s equities group are: Mark Hill from Carlson Capital; Troy Setrakian from Bank of America Merrill Lynch; Renee Bijlani from Graham Capital Management; Adam Booth from Asolare Capital Management; Patrick Clavin from Pandion Capital; Gary Meselsohn from BTIG; Trey Oglesby from Friess Associates; Eddie Sanchezfrom Credit Suisse; and Ram Seshadri from Welch Capital Partners.

In options, Dennis Davitt joins as head of options trading. Davitt, a 22-year veteran, spent the last 10 years as U.S. head of derivatives trading at Credit Suisse. Prior to that, he was a senior trader at Wolverine Trading in Chicago. Also joining the options team are: Brian Donlin and Steve Sevier, as traders from Macquarie Capital; and Ben Cohen, as a trader, who was a portfolio manager at Toro Trading.

 


 

Eze Castle Integration hired two senior technologists from hedge funds for its San Francisco office. Michael Hartig and Zachary Lehman join to expand its West Coast business. Hartig joined as regional service director. He most recently served as the chief technology officer at Seasons Capital Management.
