On The Move: Head of High Yield Bond Trading Leaves Credit Suisse

Industry veteran Matthew Courey is leaving the London trading desk to work for charities.

The head of trading for high-yield bonds has left his post at Credit Suisse Group to work with charities.

According to news reports, Matthew Courey will be replaced by Basil Eggenschwyler, who currently oversees high-yield derivatives. To round out the loss of Courey inthe London office, Credit Suisse spokesman Adam Bradbery said that high-yield sector analyst Arjun Malhotra will move over to the trading desk.

As Bloomberg reports, Before joining Credit Suisse in 2010, Courey worked for Morgan Stanley, according to his registration with the U.K.s Financial Conduct Authority. He joined the U.S banks high-yield business in 2001 in New York.

Courey serves as chairman of Seeds of Peace, a New-York based charity that works with young leaders from conflict regions.

Seeds of Peacebrings together children from places divided by conflict to help foster dialogue and build relationships. It started in 1993 as a summer camp for 46 Arabs and Israelis and now operates educational and leadership programs in 27 countries around the world, reports Bloomberg.
