On The Floor: Traders Tours the New IEX Floor – Part 2

In this Traders Gallery, we meet even more technologists, sales traders and thought-leaders inside the buyside trading venue's new offices at 4 World Trade.

Moving into a brand new trading floor is a big deal. It’s not just about lining up desks, hooking up the phones and hoping that the coffee maker in the kitchenette is ready to work at 8:15am.

The new IEX trading floor is impressive. Airy, clean and yet intimate, the new space on the 44th floor of 4 World Trade boastst spectacular views and some killer ameniites. The conderence rooms have floor-to ceiling windows for an instant sense of vertigo for visitors and the tables and furniture look like no one has spilled their cranberry Snapple just yet.

TheIEX traders, IT staffers, and other personnelseem to enjoy their motorized desks that allow them to either sit or stand at their two-monitor desks during the work day. And you know it’s a special space when the CEO would rather sit in the middle of the action of the floor than in his own brand new office.

Tradersis proud to present our second set of pics ofIEX’s new digs. The first insallment of images of the IEX floor were released last week. And Traders plan to take you onto the trading floors of other powerhouse buyside and sellside firms in the months to come.
