Warble Joins Liquidnet as Head of U.S. Sales

Block trading venue Liquidnet has hired Brennan Warble as its head of U.S. sales and as a member of the firm’s global leadership team.

Brennan, a 23 year veteran of the institutional equities business, is responsible for overseeing and growing the U.S. business and identifying ways for  Liquidnet clients to access solutions that will help them to achieve better performance. He is based in New York and reports to chief operating officer  John Kelly.

Brennan works with Lugene Forte. Forte was named U.S. head of sales and trading operations back in January 2012, replacing Alfred Eskandar who resigned in December of 2011.

Forte, a 25 year veteran, along with Brennan, will lead a newly established group at Liquidnet that is focused on value-added services, including its global high-touch and program trading desks, the Algo Services Groups in the U.S. and Europe, sell-side liquidity sourcing, and commission management services.

Prior to Liquidnet, Brennan was a managing director and head of Americas execution sales at Citigroup. While at Citi, he oversaw 150 sales traders focused on U.S. and international cash sales trading, electronic execution, derivative sales, portfolio sales, convertible sales and the CSA business.

Before Citi, he worked at Citadel Securities where he led the build out of the debt and equity sales efforts. He began his career at Merrill Lynch and held various roles, most recently serving as managing director and head of distribution for the Americas.
