WallachBeth Adds Three Sales Trading Pros

Institutional broker-dealer WallachBeth Capital has brought onboard three new sales traders that will focus on equities and equities derivatives trading.

The new traders are Hearst Zhang, Simon Russell and Rod Lombard.

Zhang, an 8-year pro, focuses on institutional sales trading, listed and OTC options. He spent the last year at Louis Capital Markets and before that was on the cash equity and options desk at Newedge USA. He also worked at Pelion Securities and Dresdner Kleinwort.

Russell, a 13-year veteran, will also cover institutional sales trading, exchange-traded funds and options. He spent the last two years at BGC Partners. Prior to that, he led international research sales at Pali Capital and was a sales trader at MF Global.

Rounding out the trio is Lombard, who joins as a sales trader in its institutional listed and Over-the-Counter derivative trading desk. Lombard, a 15-year pro, was previously at BGC Partners for the last five years. He also did stints at IDB’s Credit Lyonnais, Tullet Prebon and Garban International.

All report to chief executive Michael Wallach.

Last year, the firm hired Matt Gohd as a senior managing director and options strategist. Gohd, a 30-year veteran of the markets and one of the Street’s most recognized contrarians, will specialize in providing hedge fund managers with tactical trading and options strategy insight. He comes from Revere Capital, where he spent the last three years. Prior to that, he served as chairman of investment banking boutique Bluestone Capital.

WallachBeth Capital specializes in ETFs, listed equity options and index products, OTC derivatives, listed and OTC equities, and non-US equities.
