BTIG made three hires in its New York and Atlanta offices. In New York, BTIG brought on Glen Sulam and Patrick Boyle. Sulam joined as a managing director and a sales trader, covering large institutional clients. He spent 14 years at UBS, where he was head of cash trading and sales trading. Boyle joined as a managing director and a sector trader. Boyle was most recently at CRT Capital Group. Before that, he was at FBR Capital Markets. BTIG now has dedicated sector coverage in TMT, energy, utilities, consumer, health care, financials and small-cap stocks. In Atlanta, BTIG brought on Stephen Sibilia as a director and a sales trader. Sibilia was most recently at Macquarie Securities, where he covered U.S.-based hedge funds and mutual funds. The hires are part of BTIG’s targeted 100-person expansion under way this year.
New York Stock Exchange floor brokerage Prime Executions has begun offering a research product, and has hired four executives to spearhead the effort. J.B. McLellan, former head of equity sales and trading at Phoenix Partners Group, joined as a managing director, and head of research sales and trading. Nadia Doh, who also worked at Phoenix Partners Group, joined as a sales trader. Christopher Kettenmann, also from Phoenix Partners Group, joined as chief energy strategist. Steven Pytlar, previously with Bay Crest Partners, joined as chief equity strategist. Prime Executions’ new research offering includes macro, technical, energy, and corporate access across all sectors.
Tom Quigley joined WallachBeth as a managing director to lead a new equities electronic trading initiative for the buyside. A 19 year veteran, Quigley spent the last five years at Sungard Brokerage in a similar role. He will work out of WallachBeth’s New York office. Quigley has also done stints at EdgeTrade Securities and BNY Brokerage.
Steve Mickle joined WallachBeth in its San Francisco office as a director in the firm’s ETF institutional sales/trading group. A six year pro, Mickle came from BlackRock’s iShares Division where he spent the last four years. He is a chartered alternative investment analyst who also has worked at Barclays Global Investors and Merriman Capital.
Rick Joyce joined Stamford–based CRT Capital Group as a managing director on the equity sales trading desk. Joyce most recently managed U.S. equity sales trading at BMO Capital Markets. He also spent 13 years at Merrill Lynch in Chicago and New York. Joyce reports to Eric Shenker, head of equity trading at CRT.
