>>Timothy McArdle joined Tullett Prebon Financial Services in Jersey City, N.J., as a market surveillance analyst. McArdle previously spent nearly 20 years at ConvergEx and its predecessor companies in a variety of sales and trading roles.


>> WallachBeth hired three sales traders: Hearst Zhang, Simon Russell and Rod Lombard.

Zhang, an eight-year pro, focuses on institutional sales trading, listed and OTC options. He spent the last year at Louis Capital Markets and before that was on the cash equity and options desk at Newedge USA. He also worked at Pelion Securities and Dresdner Kleinwort.

Russell, a 13-year veteran, will also cover institutional sales trading, ETFs and options. He spent the last two years at BGC Partners. Prior to that, he led international research sales at Pali Capital and was a sales trader at MF Global.

Lombard joined as a sales trader on WallachBeth’s institutional listed and OTC derivatives trading desk. Lombard, a 15-year pro, was at BGC Partners for the last five years; he also did stints at IDB’s Credit Lyonnais, Tullett Prebon and Garban International. All three new hires report to chief executive Michael Wallach.


>>Brian Dunderdale joined Topeka Capital Markets as a sales trader in the New York firm’s San Francisco office. Dunderdale was previously a sales trader at Capstone Investments. That firm shut down late last year.


>>Angelo Perrone joined Northeast Securities on its market-making desk in Mitchel Field, N.Y. Perrone has spent the last 20 years in the trading rooms at Pershing and Sandgrain Securities.


>>Todd Hathaway joined New York’s Divine Capital Markets as a senior global equity trader. Hathaway was most recently the director of international trading at Mizuho Securities.


>> Brean Capital made four hires in equity trading in recent months. First, the New York-based boutique investment bank brought on Roberto Friedlander as head of equity trading. Friedlander was previously a director of equity trading at Lazard Capital Markets for four and a half years.

Brean also hired three sales traders: John Ratkoski, Stephen Murphy and Sadler Ramsdell. Ratkoski, based in New York, was previously a sales trader with Rochdale Securities in Red Bank, N.J. Murphy, based in Boston, was a sales trader at Nomura Securities. His hire follows by one month the departure of sales trader Michael Comerford from Brean’s Boston office. Ramsdell will cover the mid-Atlantic region for Brean. He was previously with Credit Suisse Securities for nearly 25 years.


>>Steve Belge joined Macquarie Securities in its Boston office as a sales trader. Belge was previously a sales trader at Barclays Capital.


>> Veteran-owned Academy Securities hired two equity sales traders: Randi Feldman and Tim Coughlin.

Feldman, a 14-year veteran, worked at Knight Capital for five years. Prior to that, she worked at Sterne Agee & Leach for four years and spent nearly four years at NDB Capital Markets. Coughlin, a 21-year professional, comes from Imperial Capital. Prior, he was director of energy trading at Dahlman Rose, which was acquired by Cowen this year. Coughlin also was a partner at Cantor Fitzgerald, coordinating trading activity on New York Stock Exchange- and Nasdaq-listed stocks for institutional accounts. Before that, he spent 16 years at Jefferies & Co., where he started and managed the firm’s health care sector trading desk. Both report to Michael Naidrich, Academy’s head of trading.


>>Robert Malin rejoined Nasdaq after spending the last five years at block-trading venue Liquidnet. Malin, a 15-year veteran, comes back to the exchange as part of the newly formed Nasdaq Private Market, a joint venture between Nasdaq and SharesPost inked in early March. In his new role, he will engage private companies, investors and brokers to improve and expand the market for private share trading. The Nasdaq Private Market is slated to launch later this year.


>>Raymond Gentile joined Maxim Group as a vice president with responsibility for equity derivatives sales and trading. Gentile has held similar positions in the past few years at Tejas Securities and TJM Investments.


>>Mike Schwarz joined Raymond James & Associates as a sales trader in San Francisco. Until last October, Schwarz held a similar position at Nomura Securities in San Francisco.


>>Eric Shenker joined CRT Capital as head of equity trading. Shenker was most recently with AllianceBernstein. Shenker also spent five years at Deutsche Bank Securities.


>>Larry Cromidas joined Lek Securities as a sales trader. Cromidas held similar positions in the past few years at Maxim Group and Rodman & Renshaw.


>>Rob Bellick has become chief executive of Wolverine Execution Services, the agency brokerage affiliate of Wolverine Trading. Bellick, a partner with Wolverine Trading, has worked for the firm since 1994. He replaces Jim Michuda as CEO. Michuda retired.


>>Mike Mollemans joined Canadian agency brokerage Pavilion Global Markets as head of sales trading for the Asia-Pacific region. He works in the broker’s Montreal office. Previously, Mollemans was head of electronic trading at Credit Suisse Securities in Tokyo.


>>John McGrory joined Monarch Bay Securities in Southern California as a sales trader. He was previously a sales trader with Roth Capital Partners.


>>Glenn Lesko was promoted to global head of client strategy and U.S. international and product sales at Instinet in New York. Lesko was previously chief executive of Instinet’s Asia business.


>>Lionel Mellul joined British interdealer broker Sunrise Brokers in New York to head up its new cash equities desk. Mellul was a co-founder and chief executive of Momentum Trading partners, which shut down last July.


>> Mary McDermott-Holland joined financial services and consultancy firm iGATE as vice president, sales and client services. McDermott-Holland, a 30-year professional, will focus on Boston- and New York-based clients. Prior to this, she was vice president of transaction services at Nasdaq OMX and spent 28 years as a director and trading manager at Mellon Capital Management, which acquired Franklin Portfolio Associates in January 2009.


>> Doug Rivelli has joined hedge fund Proteus Global Partners as its chief executive officer. Proteus describes itself on LinkedIn as a “multi-catalyst long/short event fund.” Prior to this, Rivelli was chief executive at Algorithmic Trading Management for two years. Formed in 2009, ATM is a global and multi-asset class electronic trading company and part of Cowen Group. Cowen Group purchased ATM in 2012.

Before ATM, Rivelli spent three years at Pragma Securities as its chief executive officer. Rivelli also spent nine years at institutional broker Weeden & Co. as a managing director. Rivelli ran Weeden’s electronic trading desk there and oversaw a move of the electronic trading group to Pragma from Weeden in 2009.
