
Jeff Alexander has joined as President and CEO of The Northern Trust Company, Canada, and Principal Officer of the affiliated The Northern Trust Company, Canada Branch based in Toronto. He succeeds Katie Pries, who has led Northern Trust in Canada since 2020 and will take on a newly created global role focused on Northern Trust’s anti-money laundering processes. With more than 30 years of experience, Alexander has considerable knowledge of the Canadian financial services landscape and regulatory environment. Most recently, he was part of the executive leadership team at TELUS Health, a global pension and benefits consultancy, where he was the National Custody Practice Lead and National Growth Lead.

Angie Davis, currently serving as President of Campbell Global, will succeed John Gilleland as Chief Executive Officer, effective October 1. Gilleland, who has been with Campbell Global for 43 years and has served as CEO since 2002, will transition away from his CEO responsibilities over the next 12 months. Davis has been with Campbell Global since 2001 and has played an integral role in its growth, holding several key positions, including Managing Director of Portfolio Management. She assumed her current role as President in 2016.

Blockchain Association, a trade association representing the crypto industry in Washington, D.C., has announced that Summer Mersinger will join as its new Chief Executive Officer, succeeding Kristin Smith. Commissioner Mersinger brings more than two decades of public policy and regulatory experience to Blockchain Association. She currently serves as a Commissioner at the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), where she plays a key role in shaping federal regulatory policy in the financial markets, including policies impacting digital assets.
State Street Corporation has appointed Sara Mathew as independent Lead Director. Mathew previously served as chairman and chief executive officer of Dun & Bradstreet where she also held the position of chief financial officer. Before Dun & Bradstreet, Mathew had an 18-year career at Procter & Gamble within finance, technology, investor relations and brand management.
Apex Group has appointed Tom Bennett as Global Head of Fintech. In this newly created role, he will lead Apex Group’s global fintech strategy, enhancing its digital capabilities across private markets, capital markets, and digital assets. Bennett’s background boasts experience at leading companies such as JLL and BT, and he most recently served as Group Head of Innovation at Aztec Group, prior to joining Apex Group. He has 15 plus years of experience working with tech companies and communities, with a proven track record of building and scaling innovative new ventures and digital products.
