ON THE MOVE: LSEG Adds Hoggett, Bakhshi; BMO Hires Stockland

London Stock Exchange Group plc appointed Julia Hoggett as CEO of London Stock Exchange plc, a regulated subsidiary of LSEG. She will report to Murray Roos, Group Director, Capital Markets, LSEG and will start her position next year. Denzil Jenkins will continue as interim CEO of London Stock Exchange plc until she joins the Group. Hoggett joins London Stock Exchange plc from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority, where she was most recently Director of Market Oversight, having previously led the Wholesale Banking Supervision Department. Prior to joining the FCA in 2014, she spent four years at Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML) as Managing Director and Head of the FIG Flow Financing Business for EMEA, Head of Covered Bonds for EMEA and Head of Short Term Fixed Income Origination in EMEA. 

LSEG also announced today that Balbir Bakhshi will join the Group as Chief Risk Officer and a member of the LSEG Executive Committee, reporting to David Schwimmer, CEO. He will assume his role on 25 January 2021 succeeding Diane Côté who has informed the Group that she intends to retire around the close of the Refinitiv transaction. Bakhshi joins the Group from Deutsche Bank, where he is currently Group Head of Non-Financial Risk Management. 

BMO Capital Markets hired Eric Stockland as Managing Director in the Electronic Trading Division. With nearly 20 years’ experience in trading, capital markets technology and exchange operations, Eric was most recently the Chief Strategy Officer at IEX. Prior to IEX, he was an execution consultant at KCG, a proprietary trader at GETCO, and began his career at Archipelago (now NYSE Arca).

AllianceBernstein L.P. and AllianceBernstein Holding L.P. announced that Onur Erzan will join AB as Head of Global Client Group, effective January 4. Erzan will be responsible for all client services, sales and marketing, as well as product strategy, management and development worldwide. He will report to Seth Bernstein, President and CEO. Erzan joins AB from McKinsey where he is a senior partner and Co-leader of the firm’s Wealth Management & Asset Management practice.

BNP Paribas Asset Management appointed Daniel Klein as Global Head of Client Services, effective January 1. Klein will be based in Paris and report to Sandro Pierri, Head of the Global Client Group and member of BNPP AM’s Executive Committee. Klein has been with BNP Paribas for more than 27 years, including the last 18 at BNPP AM. His most recent role was CEO of BNPP AM USA and Head of Sales in North America.

THETA, a provider of buy-side trading technology as a service, appointed Neena Dholani as Head of Business Development and a Board Member. Dholani has 25 years of experience in Capital Markets, specialising in fixed income e-commerce and technology sales to the buy-side. She joins THETA from FIX Trading Community, where she was Global Marketing and Membership Director. Previous roles include Head of e-Commerce Sales at Commerzbank and Societe Generale, and senior fixed income sales positions at MarketAxess, Credit Suisse and Deutsche Bank.

Tourmaline Partners, a provider of outsourced trading, hired two managing directors: Keir Collins, who will be based in Dallas, and Yuki Shimada, who will be based in Sydney. Collins joins Tourmaline after spending 14 years at HBK, a global multi-strategy alternative investment management firm based in Dallas, where he began as an options trader and rose to the position of Global Head of Equity Trading. Prior to HBK, Collins traded options for Goldman Sachs’s Speer Hull Derivatives business in Chicago. Shimada brings more than 20 years’ global equities trading experience in senior roles on both the buy and sell sides. He most recently served as a senior equities trader at CBRE Clarion Securities, a global investment manager specializing in listed real assets, where he spent the past decade overseeing all Asian trading. 

S3, a provider of trade surveillance, analytics, and regulatory reporting technology, appointed Sarah Phillips as Vice President of Marketing and Sales Operations. At S3, Phillips will be responsible for handling all of marketing, including PR, event planning, and advertising, as well as managing sales operations. Phillips brings more than 15 years‘ experience organizing industry events and working with broker-dealers and wholesalers, most recently as a VP at Citi.
