During his 20+ year career, Patterson has held senior roles in trading, technology and institutional sales, with a focus on equities, options, commodities and FX in global markets. Prior to joining Jefferies, where he focused on outsourced trading and relationship management for some of the group’s top accounts as well as prime sales for new launch hedge funds, Patterson was director of Eze Software Group where he demonstrated and used previous buy-side experience to help clients maximize use of current and prospective Eze products. He spent the early part of his career as a trader, progressing to head trader roles at hedge funds Incline Global Management and Signpost Capital.

Patterson’s diverse background gives him a broad perspective of the industry and an in-depth understanding of client requirements and how best to help them to grow. At Marex, he will work closely with hedge funds and asset managers to deliver solutions that support their business and trading objectives, enhance operational efficiency and enable long-term growth.

Patterson’s appointment follows a series of strategic hires in Marex’s prime services and outsourced trading team over the past few weeks. Most recently, Serhan Eryuksel joined the outsourced trading team in London from UBS, Charlie Monson was appointed to the outsourced trading team in Dubai, and Rebecca Kim (Smithurst) was announced as the first prime services team hire in Singapore. Additional hires will be announced imminently, reflecting the growing demand globally for Marex’s prime brokerage and outsourced trading solutions.
