Clients, Celebrities and Employees Join Together to Support Charities Worldwide

BTIG announced today that it will host its 17th BTIG Commissions for Charity Day on Tuesday, May 2, 2023. Commissions for Charity Day is the firm’s signature philanthropic event and is part of a month-long effort, “Making A Difference in May”, when all employees are encouraged to give back to others.

On May 2nd, with the support of its institutional trading clients, notable guests and employees, BTIG plans to donate their trading profits to charities around the world. Guests who have committed to join the event thus far include: Harrison Bader, Aaron Boone, Brian Cashman, Victor Cruz, Mark Cuban, Patrick Dempsey, Ubah Hassan, Jesse Iwuji, Eli Manning, David Muir, Shaquille O’Neal, CC Sabathia, John Starks, Michael Strahan, Gleyber Torres, Dominique Wilkins and many more. Clients participate by nominating non-profit organizations for donation consideration. All-star athletes, actors, actresses, business leaders, cultural icons, journalists, models, politicians and other celebrities make appearances on the trading floor, building excitement for the event and serving as ambassadors for charities important to them. “We are excited to once again host Charity Day in person. Partnering with clients and leveraging our global resources to contribute to the work of non-profit organizations is incredibly rewarding, especially when we see how they put our donations to work,” said Steven Starker, Co-Founder of BTIG. “We appreciate the opportunity to bring clients and employees together to make a difference in the lives of others.”

Since pioneering its first BTIG Commissions for Charity Day in 2003, BTIG has donated more than $50 million to charitable organizations around the world. BTIG employees also enjoy a volunteering benefit, where they are allocated paid time off to volunteer for other organizations. “Commissions for Charity Day is unique in that it serves such a wide range of deserving organizations,” said Scott Kovalik, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BTIG. “And it has served as a foundation for our broader firm initiative of encouraging all employees to find a way to give to others in the month of May.”
