ON THE MOVE: JonesTrading Adds Macaluso and Everett; Moves at Citi

JonesTrading Institutional Services hired Chris Macaluso and Jon Everett for its European and U.S. outsourced trading businesses, respectively. Macaluso was recently Head of Equity Sales Trading at Handelsbanken Capital Markets. He also held buy-side trading roles at Putman, Soros and Lucerne. Mr. Macaluso is based in JonesTrading’s outsourced trading headquarters in Charleston, South Carolina. Everett joins JonesTrading from Echo Street where he was Head of Global Trading and spent over seven years leading trading operations. 

Citi named Erika Irish Brown as Chief Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Officer and Global Head of Talent, according to an internal memo. Irish Brown most recently served as the Chief Diversity Officer at Goldman Sachs, where she helped launch their diversity goals, board diversity efforts and most recently the “One Million Black Women” initiative. Previously, she was the first Global Head of Diversity and Inclusion at Bloomberg, and she held leadership roles at Bank of America, Lehman Brothers, and Black Entertainment Television (BET).

Also at Citi, firm veteran Sandeep Arora was named Head of Digital and Chief Investment Officer for Citi’s Institutional Clients Group. Arora will be tasked with accelerating and governing the ICG digital strategy, as well as driving consistency and best practices in investment decisions, investment approach and portfolio management, working with the investment teams embedded in the business lines. Arora joined Citi in 1988 and was most recently Managing Director, ICG Electronic Platforms and Markets FinTech Investments, according to his LinkedIn profile.

IEX Group hired Rachel Barnett as Chief Legal Officer. Barnett has an extensive background working as a general practitioner and litigator. She has guided strategic business initiatives for private and public companies while also overseeing Board governance, mergers and acquisitions, real estate portfolios, complex commercial transactions, IP, litigation, and employment matters.

LiquidityBook, a Software-as-a-Service-based provider of buy- and sell-side trading solutions, hired Sumit Kumar as Senior FIX Specialist, based in London. Kumar spent the last four years at Refinitiv, where he began as a FIX Connectivity Specialist and rose to Director, Global Head of FIX Onboarding for the Redi EMS. Prior to that, he spent a large portion of his career rising through the ranks in Goldman Sach’s electronic trading division and stayed on with the REDI platform as it spun out in 2014. 

Northern Trust Front Office Solutions hired Nichole Mann as head of operations administration and Nora Tiller as head of client solutions. Mann will be responsible for functions including operational data governance, data quality and process oversight, policy development, and data analysis. Prior to joining Northern Trust, Mann worked at several U.S.-based hedge funds where she managed business unit control, valuation control and documentation, operational risk management, and financial reporting and management. She formerly served as a vice president with Morgan Stanley where she focused on credit derivatives and structured credit products. Tiller, will play a key role in the continued growth of Front Office Solutions by continuously matching resources with client needs, assessing team development, and further developing the client servicing model. Tiller comes to Northern Trust from Georgetown University, where she served as director of investment operations for the university endowment, managing investment accounting, performance analytics, risk measurement, financial reporting, and compliance. 

Quant trading firm Jane Street poached Aaron Katzman, a senior equity derivatives trader, from Barclays, Insider reported, citing sources familiar with the matter. Katzman will be a single-stock options trader at Jane Street. He joined Barclays in 2008 and rose to managing director on the equity volatility desk, focusing on tech stocks, Insider reported. 

Broctagon Fintech Group, multi-asset liquidity and brokerage technology provider, hired Cecilia Chan as Executive Director. Chan comes from a 20-year career in leading financial institutions across Asia. She was the head of dealing for Phillip Futures followed by Maybank before moving on to be the Vice President of Membership & International Coverage at the Singapore Exchange and most recently as Senior Manager of Exchange & Regulatory Relations at Hang Seng Indexes, based in Hong Kong.
