ON THE MOVE: Citadel Hires Chang; Larson Headed to Jefferies

Citadel has hired Isaac Chang from AQR for the new role of head of fixed income trading, Business Insider reported. Isaac Chang was the head of trading at AQR since 2016, according to his LinkedIn profile, and was previously global head of FICC trading for KCG and managing director in rates trading at Goldman Sachs. Chang frequently speaks about trading, technology and market structure at industry conferences. AQR has replaced Chang with Scott Carter, a principal at the Greenwich-based asset manager, BI reported. 

Jefferies Group LLC announced that effective August 24, Matthew Larson will become Chief Financial Officer, succeeding Teresa Gendron, who has been Jefferies Group’s Interim Financial Officer since the untimely illness and death of its former CFO, Peg Broadbent. Larson is currently the Chief Financial Officer of Barclays Americas, as well as CFO of Barclays PLC’s Global Markets business. Previously, Mr. Larson was a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs where he held several roles in the Finance Division.

TradingScreen Inc., the global, multi-asset class order and execution management system, announced changes to the composition of its Board of Directors. Pierre Schroeder, who currently serves as TS’s Chief Executive Officer and President and a director of the Company, was elected to serve in the new capacity as Chairman of the Board in addition to Chief Executive Officer of the Company. Varghese Thomas, who currently serves as TS’s Chief Operating Officer and Chief Strategy Officer and a director of the Company, was elected to serve in the new capacity as President, in addition to Chief Operating Officer of the Company.

Chicago-based R.J. O’Brien & Associates, the oldest and largest independent futures brokerage and clearing firm in the U.S., hired Mark Donlon to head up a newly established over-the-counter swaps sales and trading desk. Based in New York and reporting to RJO Chief Sales Officer Dan Staniford, Donlon was named Executive Director, Interest Rate Swaps. He has a nearly 30-year career in OTC and listed derivatives with a specialty in fixed income sales and trading at some of the world’s largest financial institutions. 

   Appital, the Equity Capital Marketplace, announced two senior board appointments. Greg Bennett and Stephane Carty have been appointed as non-executive directors to support Appital’s mission to bring technological innovation and automation to equity capital markets. Bennett brings a unique overview of equity capital markets to the board. As the former Head of Capital Markets for EMEA and the Americas for Fidelity International he has first-hand experience of the liquidity challenges faced by the buy-side. Carty has more than 23 years investment experience in trading and financial derivatives. He founded Fir Post Capital, a global volatility fund, in 2010 and subsequently Blackheath Capital Management. 

BTIG Limited hired Luke Hodges as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Equities. Hodges will be based in BTIG’s London office, and will be tasked with further developing firm strategy, recruiting key talent as well as investing in technology to bolster its trading platform and multi-asset class product suite. Prior to BTIG, Hodges spent 17-plus years at Goldman Sachs, where he ran several businesses across EMEA Execution including Portfolio Trading, ETF Trading, Listed Derivatives and Electronic Trading. 

The Financial Services Institute announced the election of Marc Squires, Head of Wealth and Brokerage Platforms, Fidelity Institutional, to its Board of Directors. Squires brings years of industry experience and leadership to the FSI Board. “I am pleased to welcome Marc to our Board,” said FSI President & CEO Dale Brown. “His passion for our advocacy mission and industry experience will help advance our efforts in Washington, D.C. and the states to ensure Main Street Americans’ access to affordable, professional financial advice.”
