
Katie Kolchin has been appointed to the position of managing director, equity and options market structure at SIFMA. In this new role, Kolchin will serve as the staff advisor to both SIFMA’s Equity Markets and Trading Committee and SIFMA’s Listed Options Committee. She will be responsible for all market structure issues in the equities and listed options areas, which is part of SIFMA’s broader Capital Markets division, and will report to Rob Toomey, head of SIFMA’s capital markets practice and SIFMA managing director and associate general counsel. Kolchin has worked at SIFMA since 2017, being named head of research in 2019. Previously, she was a senior equity research analyst at Rosenblatt Securities.

Claudine Gallagher, currently Head Human Resources Officer at BNP Paribas CIB Americas, and previously Head of Americas for Securities Services, will be appointed as Head of Securities Services globally, effective January 1, 2026. Patrick Colle will become BNP Paribas’ Executive Chairman of Securities Services, in addition to his role as Chairman of Financial Institutions Coverage (FIC). Claudine Gallagher will report to Patrick Colle and will join the leadership team of BNP Paribas Corporate & Institutional Banking. Prior to her new appointment, Gallagher was Head of Human Resources for CIB Americas. She oversaw notably employee relations, talent acquisition, leadership and development, diversity initiatives, and HR operations. She simultaneously served as the CCCO (Conduct, Compliance, and Control Officer) for the Americas for BNP Paribas USA and CIB Americas. Colle became CEO of Securities Services and Chairman of Financial Institutions Coverage (FIC) in October 2022 and previously was General Manager of BNP Paribas Securities Services since May 2010.

Broadridge has appointed Kenneth MacHarg as Managing Director, Global Head of Futures and Options Trading. Based in New York, MacHarg will report to Frank Troise, President of Broadridge Trading & Connectivity Solutions. MacHarg has a proven track record of delivering innovative cutting-edge solutions for sell-side firms. MacHarg joins Broadridge from J.P. Morgan Securities, where he served as Managing Director, Global Head of Futures Execution Product and Head of North America Futures and Derivative Clearing. He has also held various senior-level positions at Barclays Capital/Lehman Brothers.
Northern Trust Asset Management has appointed Pedro Guazo as head of international and responsible investing. Guazo, who will join in August, will have a dual mandate of leading the asset manager’s business in Europe, the Middle East and Asia Pacific, as well as its US$189 billion global responsible investing platform. He will be based in London and part of Northern Trust Asset Management’s global leadership team, reporting to President Daniel Gamba. Guazo will be appointed CEO of Northern Trust Global Investments Limited, subject to regulatory approvals. Guazo most recently was chief executive officer for the $100-billion United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund’s Office of Investment Management.
The Securities and Exchange Commission has announced that Kevin Muhlendorf will be the agency’s new Inspector General, effective July 28. Mr. Muhlendorf is a former SEC and Justice Department attorney who for the past nine years has been a partner in the white-collar defense and government investigations practice at Wiley Rein LLP in Washington D.C., where he focused on representing individuals and entities in criminal and civil securities enforcement matters. Acting Inspector General Katherine Reilly will return to her role as a Deputy Inspector General.
MetLife Investment Management (MIM), the institutional asset management business of MetLife, Inc. has named Brian Funk its president. Funk previously served as interim president and global head of Private Capital for MIM. Funk previously served as global head of Credit Research for MIM’s Public Fixed Income business. He joined MIM as part of the firm’s acquisition of Logan Circle Partners in 2017.
