SunGard Data Systems, operator of BRASS, officially named Thomas King as president and chief operating officer. He was previously vice president of sales.

Diane Canepa, previously with the Nasdaq Stock Market, joined Schwab Capital Markets in Jersey City, N.J. as a broker dealer liaison.

Knight Capital Markets hired Bill Militello as an equity trader. Before joining Knight, he was the director of marketing for financial services at the technology firm SRA.

Nick Savona, a former TD Securities pro, moved to ITG Canada as director of equity trading.

The Ashton Technology Group in Philadelphia named Scott von Kleeck, previously with the Vanguard Group, as senior vice president and chief technology officer.

Bill Adiletta, was named chief information officer at iXnet/IPC, a unit of Global Crossing. He will be based in Beverly Hills, CA.

Tradescape.com in New York appointed Thomas L. Wright as chief financial officer. He was previously a vice president and treasurer at Ziff-Davis Inc.

Jeremiah Callaghan, a former Lehman Brothers pro, joined Wall Street Access in New York as managing director. He reports to the firm's founder and chief executive, Denis Kelleher.

Steve Pickett, a senior vice president and business manager at Reuters America has an expanded mandate. He will also handle the company's West Coast operations.

Charles F. Auster, previously executive vice president and chief operating officer with iXnet, joined Leonia, N.J.-based Infocrossing as president and chief executive.

The Cincinnati Stock Exchange named David Colker chief executive. He succeeds Edward L. Provost, and will retain the title of president.

Howard Burwell, previously with J.C. Bradford & Co., joined Robinson Humphrey in Atlanta as a senior Nasdaq trader.

GVR Company in Chicago hired John Masi as regional vice president of marketing. He was previously with Peters Securities.

U.S. Discount Brokerage in Cleveland, Ohio appointed Joseph D. Paluh as vice president of trading. Paluh was previously a trader with Vestax ING Bank.

Nigel Walder joined MoneyLine, a London-based provider of interactive electronic trading applications, as general manager of European operations. He came from NatWest.

WorldStreet, a financial services software development firm in Boston, named Rod Hodgman, previously senior vice president of marketing, as chief operating officer. John Riley, formerly director of marketing at Stream International, joined the company as vice president of marketing.

John McCarthy, previously chief regulatory officer for Knight Securities, returned to the Securities & Exchange Commission as associate director of compliance and inspections.

Arthur Pacheco, previously chief executive at Strike Technologies, has returned to Bear Stearns & Co. He is teaming up once again with Aldo Parcesepe, head of the Nasdaq/OTC desk.

Internet Trading Technologies in New York named Thomas Joyce as director of business technology and Deborah Reid as director of client relations. Before joining the firm, Joyce and Reid were with Jefferies & Co.

Two well-known pros, John Berrie from Donaldson, Lufkin & Jenrette and Jim Romano from NDB Capital Markets, have officially retired. Berrie will act as a consultant and an on-the-road diplomat for DLJ. A popular singer on public occasions, Berrie plans to keep performing Danny Boy and other favorites.
