*Ralph Acampora joined Knight

Capital Group as head of the broker's new Knight Technical Research division. Acampora was previously in charge of technical research at Prudential Equity Group for 15 years. He heads a team of three at Knight.

*At NYFIX, Bob Gasser takes over as chief executive officer from Peter Hansen, who will remain as chairman. Gasser was previously head of the divisions, NYFIX Millennium and NYFIX Clearing Corp.

*Brian Carr replaces Bob Gasser at NYFIX as chief executive of NYFIX Millennium. Carr has been with NYFIX since 2000 and was previously a senior vice president responsible for both NYFIX Millennium and NYFIX Transaction Services.

*Anthony Portelli replaces Bob Gasser as chief executive of NYFIX Clearing Corp. Portelli was previously NYFIX's clearing division's chief financial officer.

*Brian Pears joined NYFIX as a sales and marketing executive in its Millennium division. Before NYFIX, Pears was head trader at Victory Capital Management.

*Steve Rafkind joined Gordon Haskett Capital at the New York Stock Exchange as a floor broker. Rafkind had been with the floor brokerage John E. Wilson, Jr.

*Michael Durand joined 508 Securities as a floor broker at the NYSE. Durand was most recently with Marquis Holdings. He also worked for Bear Stearns.

*Michael McCauley was named head of trading at Pyramis Global Advisors, the new institutional arm of Fidelity Investments. McCauley was previously president of Pulse Trading. He had been a senior sector trader at Fidelity before joining Pulse.

*Alejandro Herrera joined Bear Wagner Specialists as a specialist at the New York Stock Exchange. Herrera was previously with LaBranche for six years.

*Daniel Trimble joined Cuttone & Co. as a floor broker at the New York Stock Exchange. Trimble spent a number of years as a floor broker with Citigroup Global Markets.

*Pulse Trading made three hires. Kevin Platt, a former sales trader at UBS, joined Pulse's Boston headquarters. Tom Geffert, formerly of Wells Fargo Securities, joined Pulse's San Francisco office. Brian O'Day, an Instinet veteran, joined the firm's New York office.

*Daniel Ferencz joined Nandra Group as an NYSE floor broker. Ferencz was previously with Bear Stearns.

*Glen Shipway was appointed to the board of directors of the National Stock Exchange. Shipway, a former executive with Nasdaq and Primex, is a consultant to brokerage firms and their legal counsel.

*Former high-ranking Morgan Stanley equities trading executives John Havens and Guru Ramakrishnan have formed a hedge fund with Morgan Stanley's former head of institutional securities, Vikram Pandit. The fund is called Old Lane Management and will focus on investments in India.

*Alaric Fontenot joined trade-cost analysis firm QSG as a quantitative analyst. Fontenot, a 12-year Wall Street veteran, was previously with Instinet. There he worked in sales and trading as well as the the trading research group.

*John Barrett joined Griswold Company at the NYSE as a floor broker. Barrett was previously with Goldman Sachs at the NYSE.

*Nicole Tuttle joined as director of sales for Pipeline Trading Systems. She is based in San Francisco. Previously, Tuttle was Liquidnet's head of sales for the western region. Tuttle will report to Andrew Howell, Pipeline's managing director of sales.

*Donald Abbamonte joined the Arthur J. Gross floor brokerage at the NYSE as a broker. Abbamonte was most recently with BNY Brokerage.

*Robert Dema joined Ervie Roy Group as a floor broker at the New York Stock Exchange. Dema was previously a NYSE floor broker with Leader Equities for one year. That firm recently terminated its membership at the NYSE.

*Nick Savona joined MGI Securities' Toronto office as a vice president, covering U.S. institutional accounts. Savona was previously a vice president in international trading at TD Newcrest. Prior to that he was a director at ITG Canada.

*Timothy Nick joined Z&Z Securities at the NYSE as a broker. Nick was previously with Dru Stock for two years. Before that, Nick worked for Bear Wagner Specialists and its predecessor firms for a number of years.

*Jeff Gamble joined MGI Securities, Toronto, where he heads trading. Gamble recently left Jones Trading's New Hampshire office as a vice president in equity trading where he covered Canadian accounts.

*Thomas Terranova joined the NYSE floor brokerage James E. Coffey as a broker. Terranova was previously with Stuart Frankel & Co.

*Ralph Esposito joined the John M. Bowers floor brokerage at the NYSE as a broker. Esposito was most recently with Natexis Bleichroder for four years at the NYSE.

*Paul D'Arienzo joined Raymond James as a NYSE floor broker. D'Arienzo was previously with DFH Equities, which sold its NYSE membership.

*Neil Della Ratta joined Boulder Institutional Services at the NYSE as a floor broker. Della Ratta was previously with BNY Brokerage for three years. The trader also worked for UBS Warburg and PaineWebber.

*Joseph Creen joined Van der Moolen Specialists USA as a specialist at the NYSE. Creen was last with LaBranche for four years.

*Gerard Monteleone rejoined Direct Access Partners as a NYSE floor broker. Monteleone was recently with Brean, Murray & Co., which sold its membership at the NYSE. Monteleone previously worked for Direct Access Partners in 2003.

*Jack Lind joined Stuart Frankel & Co. as a NYSE floor broker. Lind was previously a floor broker with Quintin Group.

*John Bates joined Kellogg Partners Institutional Services on the NYSE floor as a broker. Bates was with Bay Crest/AFC for three years.
