*Andy Busso and Robert Gagliardi joined Banc of America Securities' equity trading group from Credit Suisse First Boston. Busso joined as a managing director and head of financial sector trading. He spent four years at CSFB. Gagliardi joined as a principal and senior trader for NYSE-listed technology securities. He spent seven years at CSFB. Both report to Ciaran O'Kelly, head of equity trading and sales trading.

*Mony Rueven (see photo) and Simon Spenser re-joined the D. E. Shaw Group. Both were recently with Knight Capital Markets. Rueven joins as a managing director; Spencer as a senior vice president. Both execs are working in equities at Shaw. At Knight, Rueven ran the broker-dealer group and Spencer oversaw listed equities. Both execs worked for D.E. Shaw in the 1990s.

*Melissa Deussing was promoted to manager of equity trading at Janney Montgomery Scott. Deussing was previously a market maker and has been with the firm for six years.

*Nancy Usiak joined Cabrera Capital Markets as a vice president of equity trading. Usiak covers accounts for the Chicago-based minority firm. She previously was a floor broker with Rock Island Securities at the Chicago Stock Exchange.

*Richard Chmiel joined buyside order management system vendor LatentZero and is running its New York sales effort. Chmiel was previously a senior managing director at SunGard Trading Systems.

*W.J. Bonfanti hired Frank DeMartino and Gilbert Kernan as directors in listed and over-the-counter equity trading and sales trading. DeMartino was formerly head of Nasdaq trading and co-head of sales trading at Crown Financial Group. Kernan was previously at Soundview Technology Group, where he was a managing director and head trader before the firm was acquired by Charles Schwab.

*Josh Galper founded the research and consulting firm Vodia Group. He was previously an analyst with Tabb Group for a year and a half. Before that he ran the program trading desk at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co.

*David Sinclair rejoined SGI as a floor broker at the New York Stock Exchange. Sinclair previously spent two years with Samuel Weiss & Co. at the NYSE. Before that he was with SGI.

*Michael Keating joined Trinity Trading Corp., an independent NYSE shop, as a floor trader. Keating was previously a trader with Rock Island Securities for three years. That firm shut down its NYSE operation.

*Jason Valdez joined Rosenblatt Securities as vice president in charge of strategy and business development. He will focus on portfolio trading. Valdez joined from Frank Russell Securities in Tacoma, Washington. There he was a senior trader on the transition management and single-stock trading desk.

*Stanford Group, the Dallas-based financial services organization, hired five sales traders. In New York, it signed Tim Kindregan, Kevin Quinn, Ronald Segal and Michael Wagner. Kindregan joins from Execution LLC. Quinn joins from Lynch Jones & Ryan. Segal and Wagner were with Soundview. In Dallas, Stanford hired John McSweeney, formerly with Susquehanna.
