Bryan Blake has joined CIBC Capital Markets as Managing Director and Head of Global Low Touch Execution, leading the strategy and performance of the bank’s electronic trading platform across global equities, according to a LinkedIn post.

Blake said the move marks “the next chapter” after helping build the business at Cboe Global Markets: “This next chapter is about scaling that experience in a global role with a broader mandate,” he shared on social media.
In his new global role, he indicated he will take on a broader mandate focused on scaling that experience.
Blake is a markets executive with over 20 years of experience in electronic trading, exchanges, and market structure.
Blake joins after nearly six years at Cboe Global Markets, where he most recently served as Vice President and Head of Canadian Equities.
In that role, he led the Canadian equities business across strategy, operations and client engagement, oversaw the integrations of MATCHNow and NEO into Cboe’s global platform, and helped launch Cboe BIDS Canada.
Prior to Cboe, he was Chief Executive Officer of TriAct Canada Marketplace LP, later acquired by Cboe, and previously held roles at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and TMX Group.
The appointment comes as banks continue investing in electronic trading and low-touch execution capabilities to meet institutional demand for automation, efficiency and global market access.
“We are pleased to welcome Bryan to CIBC as Managing Director and Global Head of Low Touch Execution,” Cam Gil, MD and Head, Execution Services – Global Equities, CIBC Capital Markets, told Traders Magazine.
“With deep market structure expertise, a proven record of building scalable electronic platforms, and strong relationships, Bryan is well positioned to advance our low touch execution capabilities and deliver continued performance for our clients globally,” he said.
