The STA of Florida to Host 42nd Annual Conference

The Security Traders Association of Florida will be hosting its 42nd annual conference at the iconic Don CeSar Resort in St. Petersburg on February 15-17.

The conference’s registration will begin on Thursday, February 15, followed by a welcome reception and charity introduction.

On Friday, February 16, there will be three panel discussions with prominent speakers including: Oliver Sung, CBOE Vice President, Interim Head of North American Equities; Nikki Brinkerhoff, Chief Compliance Officer at Tradestation Securities; Rich DeLayo, Managing Director, Global Electronic Trading and Market Structure at Raymond James and Ed Hosty, Senior Director of Execution Services at Robinhood Securities.

“We have secured an impressive lineup of dynamic speakers for our panel discussions,” commented Janice Hilsman, STA Florida President.

This year’s panel topics include Electronic Trading: Catch the Wave of Innovation moderated by David Cannizzo, Head of Electronic Trading at Raymond James;  Compliance / Surveillance: Electronic Trading Surveillance and Supervision – Regulatory Guidance moderated by Erin Clemens, Trumid Head of Compliance, as well as Updates Across Asset Classes; and Market Structure: Viewing Market Structure Through the Multi-Asset Looking Glass moderated by Anna Ziotis Kurzrok Managing Director, Head of Market Structure at Jefferies.

In addition, Janice Hilsman, STA Florida President and Director, Capital Markets Compliance at Raymond James, alongside Byron Mitson, STA Florida Vice President and Managing Director, Equity Trading at Raymond James will introduce its charity recipient – Promise Fund of Florida, an organization that is fighting to end late-stage deaths from breast and cervical cancer.

On Friday evening, there will be a reception with a special guest speaker, LTC (R) Robert Schaefer, Master Distiller & Co-Founder of American Freedom Distillery. “Listen and enjoy Whiskey and War Stories while partaking in a Horse Soldier Bourbon Tasting,” Hilsman said.

She also mentioned that attendees can enjoy exciting networking events including the Cornhole Tournament on Friday, February 16 as well as Golf Tournament, and the Fishing Excursion – both on Saturday, February 17.
