ON THE MOVE: Vitaliy Kozak Joins Octaura; Mauricio Viaud to Insigneo

Vitaliy Kozak

Octaura, an industry-led electronic trading, data and analytics solution, has appointed Vitaliy Kozak as Chief Product Officer. Kozak has had a central role in the ideation and development of Octaura as a founding member. He will be leaving his post as Global Co-head of CLO, ABS, TRUPS and CDO Trading at Citi to head product development for Octaura. Kozak’s work has been formally recognized as a top provider of secondary CLO data in both the 2020 and 2021 Creditflux surveys of buy-side institutions.

Mauricio Viaud

Insigneo, an international wealth management firm, has hired Mauricio Viaud as Senior Investment Strategist & Portfolio Manager. He will report to Ahmed Riesgo, Chief Investment Officer. Prior to joining the firm, Viaud worked as a Senior Equity Research Analyst at Janney, Montgomery, Scott, where he provided equity research insight and analysis for global stock portfolios. Before this, he was a buy-side equity research analyst at Bank of New York Mellon, where he provided equity research coverage for the energy and materials sectors for three large institutional mutual funds.

Andreas Przewloka

Dr. Andreas Przewloka has been appointed as executive vice president and chief executive officer for State Street Bank International. Przewloka reports to Joerg Ambrosius, chief commercial officer for State Street and chairman of the board. Przewloka will lead State Street’s custody and investment servicing business across Continental Europe. He brings more than two decades of financial services experience to the role, including an in-depth understanding of the securities services and European banking businesses, an extensive network of relationships with the European Central Banks and regulators, as well as strong client relationships across the continent. He joins State Street from UBS where he held various senior leadership positions, most recently serving as chief operating officer of Frankfurt-based UBS Europe SE. 

Zodia Custody has appointed Julian Sawyer as its Chief Executive Officer. Sawyer joins Zodia Custody from his previous position as CEO at the cryptocurrency exchange, Bitstamp. In 2015, he co-founded Starling Bank, acting as its Chief Operating Officer for four years as the start-up progressed to one of the UK’s most well-known challenger banks.

Securrency, a developer of institutional-grade, blockchain-based financial and regulatory technology, has hired Nadine Chakar as its Chief Executive Officer. Chakar brings over 30 years of experience in global wealth and asset management to Securrency. Most recently, she served as Executive Vice President and Head of State Street Digital, where she built and led the team that is helping State Street, institutional investors, and regulators successfully navigate the bank’s transition into a modern digital economy. 

Deutsche Bank has appointed Michael Heaney as chairman of its U.S. arm, according to Reuters. Heaney had a three-decade career at Morgan Stanley, ultimately rising to become its global co-head of fixed income sales and trading while serving on its management committee. The executive also chaired the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s Fixed Income Market Structure Advisory Committee and was lead independent director at TP ICAP, the world’s largest inter-dealer broker. Heaney succeeds Ed Kangas, who had been in the role since 2016.
