ON THE MOVE: Nasdaq Gets Sarah Youngwood; Can Envarli to LiquidityBook

Nasdaq has appointed  Sarah Youngwood as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, effective December 1, 2023. Youngwood will succeed  Ann Dennison, who has held the role since 2021 and will remain at the company until the end of the year to ensure an orderly transition. Youngwood is an accomplished leader in the financial services industry, having previously served as Chief Financial Officer and Group Executive Board member for UBS Group, where she held a key role in modernizing the bank’s infrastructure and the acquisition of Credit Suisse.

Can Envarli

LiquidityBook, a provider of cloud-native buy- and sell-side trading solutions, has hired Can Envarli as VP of Engineering. Reporting directly to Chief Technology Officer Shawn Samuel, Envarli’s primary focus will be to lead and cultivate LiquidityBook’s growing engineering team. Envarli joins from Twitter and will be responsible for overseeing the development and execution of innovative engineering strategies.

DiffusionData has appointed Scott Fink, previously an Executive Director Site Reliability Engineering at CME Group, as its new Managing Director for the Americas. Fink will be responsible for all customer and partner engagements for DiffusionData across the US, Canada and Latin America. At CME Group, he was responsible for global trading and post trade infrastructure and support to reliably manage market data delivery. He was also responsible for the deployment of Diffusion.

Zodia Custody has appointed Jonathan Hugh as Chief Financial Officer. As part of his role, Hugh will be responsible for overseeing the bank-owned custodian’s financial operations, helping to enforce Zodia Custody’s global growth as the company expands into new markets. Hugh joins the Zodia Custody team from GSR, a liquidity provider and crypto market maker, where he held the same position and led the firm through significant growth.

Delta Capita, a global Capital Markets consulting, managed services and technology provider, has appointed Alan Philpot to Chief Product Officer. Bringing more than 30 years’ experience in operations and strategy across financial markets, he joins from SETL where he was Head of Custody and Market Infrastructure. He has also held senior roles in post-trade and securities at Barclays and Capco.
