ON THE MOVE: Guggenheim Hires Two MDs; BNY Mellon Gets Nehal Udeshi

Tim Murphy

Tim Murphy and Alex Kozak will join Guggenheim Securities as a Senior Managing Director, and Managing Director, respectively, in its Telecom & Digital Infrastructure Investment Banking practice and will focus on advising companies in the bandwidth infrastructure sectors. Murphy and Kozak will be based in the firm’s New York office and start in September. Both Murphy and Kozak join Guggenheim from Bank Street.

Nehal Udeshi

Nehal Udeshi has been appointed Head of BNY Mellon’s Securities Finance business. She will lead the Securities Finance business, including oversight of the largest global agency lender.  Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Udeshi spent 17 years at Goldman Sachs in New York and London in a range of roles, most recently as co-head of Global Cross Asset Financing within Global Markets and Banking. 

Stacy Carter

Stacy Carter has joined TIFIN as Chief Operating Officer at the holding company level. Carter is a seasoned veteran in the investment and technology industries. Prior to joining TIFIN, she spent five years as Chief Legal Officer and SVP of Business Affairs at Techstars. In addition, Bhavna Thakur, has joined subsidiary TIFIN.AI as Chief Operating Officer. Bhavna has over 23 years of investing, investment banking, capital markets, M&A, corporate finance, and legal experience. She most recently led Capital Markets and Exits for private equity fund Everstone Capital.

BNP Paribas Securities has appointed Matt O’Connor as Head of its new Miami office as well as Annabella Espina the Chief Operating Officer (COO). O’Connor is currently Managing Director, Global Macro Institutional Sales at BNP Paribas in New York.  He joined the bank in 2014 and has over 20 years of experience in financial markets. Espina is currently the CFO of CIB Mexico and has been with BNP Paribas for over 17 years.  She has held several senior positions within the Bank in Paris, New York and Mexico City, including Chief of Staff for Finance and Tax and Head of Financial Management and Corporate Development for CIB Americas.

Paco Ybarra, Chief Executive Officer of Citi’s Institutional Clients Group, which includes its Banking, Markets and Services businesses, is to leave the company, according to Reuters. Prior to assuming his current role in May 2019, Paco was Global Head of Markets and Securities Services. He joined the bank in 1987 in Spain as a Management Associate. Citi has not named a replacement for Ybarra.

The FCA has appointed Clare Woodman as Chair of the FCA Markets Practitioner Panel, Matt Hammerstein as Chair of the FCA Practitioner Panel, and Mandy Gradden as Chair of the Listing Authority Advisory Panel.
