ON THE MOVE: Drawbridge Hires William Haney; Kevin R. Johnson to Goldman Sachs

William (Bill) Haney

Drawbridge, a provider of cybersecurity software and solutions to the alternative investment industry, has named William (Bill) Haney as CEO and appointed him to its board of directors. In addition, Drawbridge Founder and Board of Directors’ member Jason Elmer will become President, continuing to guide the company’s long-term vision and innovation strategy. Haney  formerly served as CEO of Credit Benchmark and BISAM. Throughout his career, Haney has held multiple senior roles at Thomson Financial and Thomson Reuters, among other international businesses. He also served as investor and non-executive chair of Alva and most recently Enhesa.

Kevin R. Johnson

The Goldman Sachs Group has appointed Kevin R. Johnson as an independent director of the firm. Johnson will also become a member of each of the firm’s Governance, Compensation and Risk Committees. Johnson retired in April 2022 as the President and Chief Executive Officer of Starbucks Corporation, a role he had held since April 2017. From September 2008 to January 2014, he served as Chief Executive Officer of Juniper Networks, and served in a variety of roles of increasing seniority at Microsoft Corporation.

Anton Orlich

CalPERS has appointed Anton Orlich as its managing investment director (MID) for Growth & Innovation. He will be a part of the Investment Office Executive Team, which is responsible for overall investment performance and risk management for the portfolio. Orlich has more than a decade of experience as a senior investment professional, most recently as the head of alternative investments at Kaiser Permanente. CalPERS also announced that Greg Ruiz, MID for Private Equity, will be departing CalPERS next month for a position at Jasper Ridge Partners, an investment management services company.

Following the SIFMA Annual Meeting and fall Board Meeting, the Association’s Board of Directors has elected the following principal officers to leadership positions on the Board for 2022-2023: Chair: James Reynolds, Jr., Chairman & Chief Executive Officer, Loop Capital Markets; Chair-Elect: Ken Cella, Principal, Branch Development, Edward Jones; Vice Chair: Laura Chepucavage, Managing Director, Global Financing and Futures, Bank of America; Treasurer: James Wallin, Senior Vice President, AllianceBernstein. 

Chris Cummings, Chief Executive of the Investment Association (IA), has been elected Board Chair of the International Investment Funds Association (IIFA), a global organization whose members are national and regional associations representing the investment funds industry. Cummings replaces José Carlos, CEO of the Brazilian Financial and Capital Markets Association, as IIFA Chair. He is the first representative from Britain to hold the position. The IIFA Board Chair appointment is for a two-year term. 

BondLink has hired William “Bill” Fazioli as a full-time regional director of issuer solutions to further expand its investor transparency initiatives. Fazioli previously served as the planning and economic development director in East Providence, Rhode Island, where he oversaw development project review, community development activities, economic development, climate resiliency, zoning reform, affordable housing and other planning-related activities.
