
Clear Street has appointed Julian Rainero as Chief Regulatory Counsel, according to a press release.. Rainero joins from McDermott Will & Schulte, where he chaired the broker-dealer practice group, and brings 30 years advising the industry’s leading clearing firms, prime brokers and electronic market makers, according to a press statement.
BMLL has appointed Michael Chiappinelli as Chief Revenue Officer, based in the US. According to a press release, he will report to Paul Humphrey, CEO of BMLL, and join its executive management team. Chiappinelli brings over 25 years of institutional sales leadership experience in financial market data, advanced analytics, algorithmic trading technology, and enterprise SaaS. Prior to joining BMLL, he served as Global Head of Sales & Account Management for the Investors vertical at Similarweb and as Managing Director and Head of Sales at SESAMm.

WisdomTree has hired John Whelan as Head of Strategy, Digital Assets, according to a press statement. Whelan brings nearly a decade of leadership in blockchain and digital assets from Banco Santander’s Corporate and Investment Bank, where he served as Managing Director of Digital Assets after building and leading the bank’s blockchain lab from 2016. He previously founded a Silicon Valley-backed blockchain startup focused on institutional credit ratings.
Optiver has strengthened its US ETF business with the appointments of Brett Sussman as Head of US Institutional ETF Sales Trading, Caitlin Krantz as US ETF Sales Trader, and Michael Crinieri as Senior Adviser, according to a LinkedIn post. Sussman joins Optiver after nearly nine years at Flow Traders, where he most recently led Institutional Sales & Trading for the Americas. His prior experience includes roles in rates, leveraged credit and equity derivatives sales and trading at Citi. Crinieri joins after more than 26 years at Goldman Sachs, where he has served as a Managing Director since 2000. Krantz joins from Old Mission, where she spent nearly three years trading ETFs and ADRs. Before moving into ETF markets, she worked as a data scientist at Atlassian and gained experience through roles in investment banking, finance and analytics at JPMorgan, Hulu, Publicis Media and Fiserv.

Eventus has expanded its leadership team with the appointment of Eric Litz as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Sarah-Jane McColl as Chief Customer Officer (CCO), according to a press release. Both executives report to Eventus CEO Cameron Routh. Litz is an accomplished CTO with more than 15 years of experience driving technology strategy, scaling Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions and optimizing operations within financial services. McColl has more than 20 years of fintech leadership and operations experience. She has served as a consultant to Eventus since 2025.
Northern Trust has appointed Nick Gilbert as head of Asset Servicing, Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA), a newly expanded role with responsibility for both asset owners and asset managers. Gilbert brings more than 20 years of experience across operations, strategy and transformation, and most recently led Global Fund Services (GFS) in the region. Kimberly Evans has been appointed to the newly created role of head of Enterprise Strategic Relationships. Evans most recently served as Northern Trust’s head of Corporate Sustainability, Inclusion and Social Impact and previously led our Private Capital Fund Services and Governmental & Sovereign Wealth Pension and Treasury Fund businesses in North America. Ian Hamilton has been appointed head of Asset Owners, EMEA, in an expanded role.
The Securities and Exchange Commission has announced four new members to fill vacancies on its Investor Advisory Committee: Adriana Z. Robertson, Professor of Business Law at the University of Chicago Law School; Patrick Daugherty, a Partner at the law firm of Foley & Lardner; John Liu, a senior citizen investor and former Managing Director at Accenture and co-founder of Agile Partners, who will serve as the representative of the interests of senior citizens; and Sheldon L. Ray Jr., former Senior Vice President, Investments, Portfolio Manager, at Raymond James & Associates.
