TRADERS ON THE MOVE: JMP Does the Wright Thing

Tom Wright joined San Francisco-based JMP Securities as a managing director and director of equities. Wright will be based in the firm’s New York office and will oversee the firm’s institutional sales and trading business as well as its equity research effort. Until July of last year, Wright was global head of trading at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co. for eight years. Before that he spent 10 years at Merrill Lynch in equities trading.

Mike Mollemans joined Canadian agency brokerage Pavilion Global Markets as head of sales trading for the Asia-Pacific region. He works in the broker’s Montreal office. Previously, Mollemans was head of electronic trading at Credit Suisse Securities in Tokyo.

Rob Bellick has become chief executive of Wolverine Execution Services, the agency brokerage affiliate of the proprietary trading firm Wolverine Trading. Bellick, a partner with Chicago’s Wolverine Trading, has worked for the firm since 1994. He replaces Jim Michuda as CEO. Michuda retired.

John McGrory joined Monarch Bay Securities in southern California as a sales trader. He was previously a sales trader with Roth Capital Partners, also in southern California.

Mike Schwarz joined Raymond James & Associates as a sales trader in San Francisco. Until last October, Schwarz held a similar position at Nomura Securities in San Francisco.
