TRADERS ON THE MOVE: Citigroup’s Hiring Spree, Mischler Nabs Four Traders From Cabrera

In today's Traders On the Move, Citi adds staff after several staffers left earlier this year while Mischler Financial lured four equity sales traders away from Cabrera Capital Markets.

Citigroup has made a spate of hires over the last two months across its equities and fixed income divisions, including:

Structured credit specialist Srinivas Narayanan and former Nomura and Barclays pro Michael Tyndall both joined in November. Nicholas Wilson, also previously at Barclays, joined last month as a director and FX options trader, while Dominic Sood joined in October as a vice-president in FX investor sales. Matt Passante also made a move from Deutsche to Citi, joining as a director in hedge fund/prime broker sales. Shu-Ming Peng has been brought in as a director, emerging equities sales, joining from HSBC, where he spent two years.

Mischler Financial Group, a a California-based investment bank and institutional brokerage owned and operated by Service-Disabled Veterans, hired four new sales traders for its Boston office. All report to Chief Executive Officer Dean Chamberlain

Larry Peruzzi appointed managing director, Global Equities. Peruzzi, a 20 year global trading markets veteran, has spent 10 years on the buyside and brings that experience to the sellside broker. He ran the buyside trading desks for Standish Mellon and thereafter, The Boston Company. More recently, Peruzzi was a managing director in International Trading for Cabrera Capital Markets.

Tim Casey was appointed vice president -U.S. DomesticEquities. Casey, with nearly 25-years as a sales trader, comes from Cabrera Capital Markets. He also has buyside trading experience coming from a stint at Standish Mellon. Casey has also been on the board of the Boston chapter of the Securities Traders Association (BSTA) for 8 years, serving in various capacities as well as President in 2010.

Patrick Morrissey joined as a vice president – European Equities, Morrissey, a buysider for 16 years, was a senior equities trader at The Boston Company during the earlier part of his career.In 2009, he migrated to the sell-side and spent the last 8 years at Cabrera, Jopnes trading and other boutique brokers.

Jeanne Austin was named vice president- Asia Market Equities. Austin spent the last five years with Cabrera trading Asian equities. Before that, she was a trader at Susquehanna Group for seven years. Earlier, Austin held trade desk roles at Schwab Capital Markets and Knight Securities.

JP Morgan head of global fund services Stephanie Miller has left the firm following the appointment of former Deutsche Bank global head of fund services Tim Fitzgerald to the role earlier this week. Prior to JPM Miller was a managing director with administrator Citco for nine years between May 2002 and March 2012.

BGC Partners named Yann Le Gallais, Managing Director and Head of BGC’s Swiss offices, based in Nyon.In this role, Le Gallais is charged with growing BGC’s business by offering a wider range of products and services to a broader client base of financial institutions in Switzerland. Le Gallais brings to BGC more than 15 years of experience in sales, management, and strategic development in the financial industry.He comes to BGC after 10 years at Exane Group, most recently as Managing Director of Exane Options.There he oversaw the daily activities of the company’s Swiss and French offices with responsibility for strategy and enhancing client relationships with top tier financial institutions. Prior to that, he held senior level sales positions on the Equity Derivatives desks at JPMorgan Chase Bank and ICAP.He began his career as a Structured Products analyst at Societe Generale Asset Management.

He reports to Jean Pierre Aubin, Executive Managing Director, Global Head of Listed Products and General Manager, Continental Europe.

Peter Stevens, formerly head of European equity sales at Credit Suisse, has been named CEO of UK-based independent research firm of Willis Welby, which was launched in 2009 and is named after its founders, Tony Willis and Max Welby. The pair worked with Stevens at Barclays de Zoete Wedd during the early part of his career. Stevens joined Credit Suisse from BZW in 1998 and worked for the Swiss bank until March this year, latterly as its head of European equity sales.
