TRADERS ON THE MOVE: Brean Beefs Up

Brean Capital has made four hires in equity trading in recent months. First, the New York-based boutique investment bank brought on Roberto Friedlander as head of equity trading. Friedlander was previously a director of equity trading at Lazard Capital Markets for four-and-a-half years. Brean also hired three sales traders: John Ratkoski, Stephen Murphy, and Sadler Ramsdell. Ratkoski, based in New York, was previously a sales trader with Rochdale Securities in Red Bank, N.J. Murphy, based in Boston, was a sales trader at Nomura Securities. His hire follows by one month the departure of sales trader Michael Comerford from Brean’s Boston office. Sadler Ramsdell will cover the mid-Atlantic region for Brean. He was previously with Credit Suisse Securities for nearly 25 years.

Steve Belge joined Macquarie Securities in its Boston office as a sales trader. Belge was previously a sales trader at Barclays Capital.

Raymond Gentile joined Maxim Group as a vice president with responsibility for equity derivatives sales and trading. Gentile has held similar positions in the past few years at Tejas Securities and TJM Investments.

Larry Cromidas joined Lek Securities as a sales trader. Cromidas held similar positions in the past few years at Maxim Group and Rodman & Renshaw.

Erik Johnson joined Esposito Securities in Dallas as a sales trader. Johnson was previously a sales trader with B. Riley Caris in San Francisco.
