TRADERS ON THE MOVE: At CRT, Janney, Northland, Elsewhere

Matt DeSalvo joined broker-dealer CRT Capital Group as the Stamford, Conn., firm’s chief operating officer. DeSalvo has 25 years of experience on Wall Street, including 20 years at Morgan Stanley in equities sales and trading. Most recently, he held a senior position in equities at Credit Suisse. CRT offers sales and trading services across rates, mortgages, credit, and equities.

Greg Voetsch joined Janney Capital Markets as head of equities. The 25-year veteran will be responsible for Janney’s equity sales, sales trading, trading, and research groups. Voetsch was most recently an executive vice president in charge of global equities at Knight Capital Group. Voetsch spent 10 years at Knight. With Voetsch’s hire, Thomas Ferraro and Jeff Woodford, who served as co-heads of equities, will assume roles as heads of sales and sales trading/trading, respectively.

Peter Andorfer joined B. Riley & Co. as a sales trader in the California brokerage’s New York office. Andorfer was previously at C.L. King & Associates where he held a similar position.

James Alperin joined Northland Securities in New York as a sales trader. In the past, Alperin has worked at a series of small broker-dealers, including Rodman & Renshaw, Caris & Co., Kaufman Bros., and C.E. Unterberg Towbin. Alerperin ran the desk at Kaufman Bros.

Tim Engles joined Tejas Securities as a vice president in the firm’s equity trading department in New York. Engles spent eight years as a trader at Cantor Fitzgerald. Most recently he worked in sales and trading at Alexander Capital.

Carlos Jimenez joined Macquarie Capital as a sales trader in New York. Jimenez was previously a sales trader at Knight Capital Group. Earlier in his career Jimenez spent over 7 years at Herzog, Heine, Geduld and its successor firm, Merrill Lynch, as well as 5 years at Susquehanna Capital Group.
