The Security Traders Association’s 74th Annual Conference & Business Meeting features a heavy menu of speakers and panels, focusing on the future of the trading business in 2008.
The conference-to be held from Oct. 3 to 7, at the Boca Raton Resort & Club in Boca Raton, Fla.-arrives at a particularly relevant time, as it concludes the day before the final compliance date for Regulation NMS, says John Giesea, STA president and chief executive officer.
“We expect that a senior professional in the trading business will go home armed with value-added ideas about the future in a rapidly changing industry,” he says.
Speakers will include SEC Commissioner Annette Nazareth, Duncan Niederauer of NYSE Euronext; Brad Hintz of AllianceBernstein; Alfred R. Berkeley III of Pipeline Trading Systems; Tom Joyce at Knight Capital; John Meserve at BNYConvergEx and Will Geyer at JonesTrading, to name a few.
