ON THE MOVE: OTC Hires New CTO; Quotron Pioneer Passes Away

OTC Exchange Network, an institutional trading network and technology provider, has announced that it has appointedDrew Rasmussenas Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of the company. As OTCXNs CTO, Rasmussen will be responsible for overseeing all technical design, technological resources, and technology development. Additionally, he will assist in developing the companys own distributed ledger technology. He joins OTCXN with years of experience leading custom, ground-up Blockchain implementations for leading global firms adopting distributed ledger tech, including Overstock.coms T0 platform, NASDAQ, State Street, and many other globally recognized financial institutions. He will report to Rosario Ingargiola, the companys Founder and CEO.

George Levine, a pioneer in the electronification of the financial markets who helped bring real-time market data to Wall Street and whose name is synonymous with the green screen or Quotron, died recently on Feb. 13 of natural causes at the age of 88, it was reported. Levine joined Scantlin Electronics, which electronically stored and retrieved stock market information, in 1963, a time when most people had to rely on newspapers to check stock prices on the New York Stock Exchange. The company changed its name in the 1970s to Quotron, the name of the ubiquitous terminal that displayed stock information on TV screens instead of ticker tape.

The former head of European trading at State Street Global Advisors has joined the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA), according to someone familiar with the matter.Dales Brooksbank– who departed State Street in July last year – joined the authority in October 2016 as head of equities trading in ADIAs central dealing department. He worked at State Streets asset management arm for over 10 years and was responsible for managing the day-to-day trading and execution for the firms fixed income, currency and derivatives trading in Europe.

Fidessa group plc hiredChris Monneryis now the US Head of Product Marketing for Electronic Execution. His focus at Fidessa is on defining product strategy and client delivery. Monnery onboards from Citi, where most recently he ran North American Futures electronic trading. Prior to that he was at Morgan Stanley, and so brings experience spanning prime services across equities and derivatives. He is based in New York and reports to David Polen, Global Head of Electronic Execution.

Advanced Logic Analytics, a provider of enterprise-class big data and finance analytics solutions for buy- and sell-side institutions, has appointedTilman Sayeras Chief Information Officer. Sayer is charged with leading the strategic development of ALAs new ALA OneLogic financial analytics suite which includes models for behavioral, emotional and sentiment-based trading and portfolio optimization modelsfurther developing the company’s financial analytic products and solutions. Prior to joining ALA, he worked as a senior analyst and financial engineer at OptiRisk Systems where he engineered the enhancement of mathematical models for equity trading and developed trading signal tools for equity assets based on the concept of stochastic dominance. Tilman will report to MD, Nick Ellis.

BGC Partners has parted ways with its New York-based head of futures and options in the latest personnel change at the inter-dealer broker as it moves to grow its listed derivatives business. US-based BGC said goodbye toSimon Andriesz, its managing director and head of futures and options for London and the Americas, at the end of January, according to a filing on the US National Futures Association website. The inter-dealer broker hired Greg Holley from SG in London early last month.

The Saudi Stock Exchange appointedSarah Al-Suhaimi, chief executive of investment bank NCB Capital, as its first female chair on Thursday, in a sign of change in the conservative society. Suhaimi was elected by the exchange’s board, which includes representatives of the central bank, the finance ministry and the commerce ministry, the exchange said in a statement. She is the first woman to chair a major government financial institution in the kingdom, where women are forbidden to drive and are subject to a male guardianship system which in many cases restricts their opportunities to work.

Bedrock Data, a vendor of automated cloud integrations, announced the appointment ofRamon Chento the Bedrock Data Board of Advisors (BOA). Chen is currently the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), Vice President Marketing and Product Management for Reltio. Chen is responsible for worldwide marketing and product management at Reltio, the enterprise data-driven applications and modern data management Platform as a Service (PaaS) company. Prior to Reltio, he was Vice President of Product Marketing at Veeva Systems. He has over 25 years of experience running marketing and product management teams at RainStor, Siperian, GoldenGate Software, MetaTV, Evolve Software, Sterling Software and Synon Inc.

OpenDoor Trading, a fixed income solutions vendor, hiredDarcy Bradbury, former Assistant U.S. Treasury Secretary for Financial Markets, to its Board of Directors; andDebbie Matz, former Board Chairman of the National Credit Union Association (NCUA), to its Advisory Board. Bradbury is a Managing Director at the D. E. Shaw group, a global investment and technology development firm. She served as Assistant Secretary for Financial Markets under President Clinton from 1993 to 1996, and Chair of the Board for the Managed Funds Association from 2009 to 2011.

Matz currently serves as a Board Member at Mutual of Omaha Bank, where she is a member of the Audit and Compensation Committees. She most recently served as Board Chairman for the National Credit Union Association from 2009 to 2016, where she was responsible for protecting the safety and soundness of 6,000 federally insured credit unions holding over a trillion dollars in assets.
