On The Move: Bats Promotes Barchetto to Executive VP, Head of Corporate Development

With the promotion – effective immediately – Barchetto joins the Bats Executive Team, which includes CEO Chris Concannon, Bats Europe CEO Mark Hemsley and assorted executive vice presidents

Im excited to welcome Tony to the Executive Team, providing an opportunity for him to have an even greater impact on the growth and direction of the firm, said Concannon in a press statement. Bats believes in rewarding associates for outstanding performance and Tony has played a critical leadership role in a number of key initiatives to date, including the Hotspot acquisition which propelled us into the global foreign exchange market.

Concannon added, Tonys tremendous market structure knowledge and financial acumen will serve him well in his expanded role and I know hell continue to produce results.

Barchetto was previously Senior Vice President, Business Development for bats where he led new business initiatives while evaluating acquisition possibilities. He joined Bats in 2014 upon the acquisition of Direct Edge Holdings, where he was head of corporate strategy.

Prior to Direct Edge, he held senior positions in product, sales, operations, and business development at Liquidnet and as a market maker with Knight Capital group before moving to Citigroups Lava Trading as a product manager in electronic trading.

He holds a bachelors degree in international economics from Georgetown University and is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
