LSE Names Former LME Chairman Donald Brydon to Head Its Board

(Bloomberg) — London Stock Exchange Group Plc named the former London Metal Exchange chairman, Donald Brydon, as the new head of its board, according to a statement on Friday.

Brydon joins the LSE immediately and becomes chairman on July 1. He takes over from Chris Gibson-Smith, who held the position for 12 years. Brydon was chief executive officer of Axa Investment Managers SA from 1997 to 2002.

His first day as chairman will coincide with Mary Schapiro joining the group as a non-executive director. She was previously the chairman of the Securities and Exchange Commission and before that the CEO of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
