IEX Taps Former NYSE Ops Head for Position

IEX, the buyside-sponsored alternative trading venue that is looking to become an exchange, has hired a former executive from the New York Stock Exchange to help bolster its technology and operations.

Paul Bauccio, the a senior vice president of operations at the oldest U.S. stock exchange, began working Monday, June 15, at IEX. Bauccio, a 15-year market veteran, was responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations of the NYSE and NYSE cash equity businesses, including the trading floor. He also provided strategic leadership and direction for trading system technology upgrades, drove the development of operational policies and procedures, and served as a primary contact on the trading floor for NYSE customers.

Prior to working at the NYSE, Bauccio spent three years at Chase Manhattan Bank, serving as an associate on the firm’s global emerging markets desk. While there, he facilitated settlement of outstanding emerging market sovereign debt transactions by collaborating with traders, legal counsel, sales and trade support teams to negotiate settlement procedures with counterparties.
