FLASHBACK FRIDAY GALLERY: Washington DC STA 10th Annual Washington Conference

Theres more than cherry blossoms showing in the nations capital.

Traders Magazine looks back through the archives at the Washington D.C. Security Traders Associations 10th annual conference on May 3, 2006. It was a rough year globally as Mumbai suffered a series of terrorist attacks via train bombings. There were seven bomb blasts that occurred over a period of 11 minutes on the Suburban Railway in Mumbai. The bombs were set off in pressure cookers and killed 209 people and injured over 700. The planet Pluto suffered disgrace as it was demoted from full planet status to dwarf planet. And Saddam Hussein, was found guilty of crimes against humanity and sentenced to death by hanging. The captured Middle East strongman was executed on December 30, 2006, the first day of Eid-ul-Adha.

Back in DC, the spring event, held at the Willard Hotel Ballroom, was replete with a business meeting and panel sessions and also featured distinguished government luminaries such as Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ), Senator Chuck Hagel (R-NE) and Senator Mike Crapo (R-ID).

Enjoy the look back.
