This week Traders Magazine looks back to 2011, a year that marked the beginning of the Arab spring tothedeath of Osama bin Laden. The year was filled withlandmark events the world over.
Some of the biggest news stories from the around theglobe included a plane crash in Russia that killed most of the members of a Kontinental Hockey League team, including Canadian coach Brad McCrimmon and former Vancouver Canuck star Pavol Demitra.
Butthe most popular storywas the earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan’s east coast in March, sending wavesas high asseven meters and black watersurging inland. Thenatural disaster left roughly 23,000 people dead or missing and triggered a nuclear crisis at Japan’sdamaged Fukushima power plant.
Almost equally important to the Western Hemisphere was the death of Osama Bin Laden – killed in a raid by US special forces bringing and end to a 10-year manhunt.
Against this back drop, the Los Angeles Security Traders Association held its 26th Annual Convention at La Quinta Resort & Spa, La Quinta, California on May 5th.
