OPTIONS REPORT: HAP Buys an OMS

Upstairs options market maker HAP Capital is streamlining its approach to trading systems technology and migrating all of its separate systems into one unified system.

HAP Capital has chosen OMEX Systems, a provider of broker-neutral direct market access, order and execution management systems, and back-office technology for buy- and sellside firms, as its new platform provider. OMEX replaced HAP’s multiple trading systems with a single system that improves  trader and support personnel efficiency and saves the firm money.

Michael Joseph, HAP Capital’s chief operating and compliance officer said the move was a no brainer for his firm.

“Prior to OMEX, our firm’s trading systems overhead and internal operations staff were dependent on several EMS and DMA systems used by our trading desk team,” Joseph said in a release. “Once introduced to OMEX, and after analyzing the efficiencies and cost savings that could be achieved by embracing a single, fully-comprehensive platform, the decision to migrate to OMEX was unanimous.”
