ON THE MOVE: Point72 Grabs Banham as PM

Point72 Asset Management has expanded its London-based investment team with the hire of a portfolio manager Robert Banham from Balyasny Asset Management. He held the same investment position in Balyasnys London office, where he worked for two years focusing on materials, energy and utilities. He previously covered the same equity sectors also for Marshall Wace, where he worked for nearly four years.

Golub Capital continues to build its syndicated and capital markets capabilities with recent hires Dan Derman and Josh Morgan. Derman joined the Sales and Trading desk as a Managing Director, broadening the teams distribution capabilities. He previously worked at Imperial Capital, Silver Point and Bear Stearns. Morgan onboarded the Capital Markets team as a Senior Vice President and previously worked at Jefferies and Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Polar Capital Holdings plc appointed Alastair Barrie to the newly created position of Managing Director, North America to drive the groups US expansion. He joined Polar Capital after 10 years at Martin Currie, most recently as Head of US Wealth Management Sales. He has over 25 years of sales experience, also spending 12 years at Henderson Global Investors, where he worked in a number of senior sales roles.

The British Business Bank onboarded Edward OHara as its new Chief Risk Officer. He joined the Bank from The Commonwealth Trade Bank Plc, where he served as Chief Risk Officer from early 2017.

Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (MUFG) grabbed Christy Orazias Managing Director and Chief Procurement Officer. Prior to joining MUFG, Orazi has held various senior leadership and transformation roles at BB&T since joining the company in 2008. Most recently, she was the Senior Vice President and Head of Sourcing and Procurement leading strategy and operations for enterprise third party spend management.She successfully led bank third party spend efforts to efficiently enable the firm to maximize value while minimizing risk. Prior to joining BB&T, she spent 12 years at IBM Corporation in various supply chain, engineering and procurement leadership roles. Based in Phoenix, Arizona, Orazi will report toJohannes “Johs” Worsoe, Chief Financial Officer for the Americas.

Broadridge Financial Solutions appointed Frederick Duden to the newly created position of Global Head of Product Development. He will be responsible for Broadridges overall product roadmap, as well as product governance and technology integration. Duden most recently served as Head of Product for Digital Wealth Management at JPMorgan Chase, where he was responsible for designing and executing a digital strategy that integrated all aspects of the wealth and asset management business. Previously, he held various leadership positions at Charles Schwab. He reporte directly to Broadridge President and CEO Tim Gokey.

Pico landed Emma Wheeler as Chief Commercial Officer for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She joins Pico as a member of the global senior executive team, reporting to Pico CEO Jarrod Yuster and working closely with Pico Global Head of Sales Michael Verkuijl and Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) Marc Hineman. She brings over 15 years of financial technology and data services experience.

HS Management Partners, LLC, (HSMP) a Concentrated Quality Growth boutique equity investment manager, added Gregory Wowkun as Senior Vice President, Investments. From 2008-2019, he was a Senior Equity Analyst at Honeywell Capital Management, serving on a team responsible for managing a portion of Honeywell’s multi-billion dollar US equity pension fund.

Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing hired Niguel Brooks away from the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) as its head of infrastructure and operations. Niguel Brooks joined the exchange operator this week, reporting to HKEX group chief technology officer, Richard Leung. Brooks will be responsible for information security management and hosting services, and act as Leungs deputy in Hong Kong.Brooks joined HKEX from ASX where he was previously a strategic advisor on information technology.

Target Group appointed Azmatali Mehrali as the Company’s new Chief Financial Officer (CFO. Since 2006, Mehrali has served as President of a private CFO consulting business that provides regulatory and financial services to start-up brokerage firms in Canada. With over 30 years of financial services experience, he has also been CFO for several firms including Wells Fargo Canada Securities, Brookfield Securities, and Virtual Brokers. He served as Vice President, Finance at Genuity Capital Markets, Assistant Controller at Investment Technology Group Canada, and Director of Finance at CIBC World Markets

Avelacom promoted Vincent Harrison to Managing Director, Global Sales, to drive business growth and further develop the firms low latency network across the Americas, EMEA and APAC. In this newly created role, reporting to Aleksey Larichev, CEO of Avelacom, He has been with Avelacom since September 2018 when he was brought on as a Vice President, Strategic Accounts. Prior to Avelacom, Vincent worked in several telecommunications companies including six years at Perseus Telecom (now GTT).

Sterling Trading Tech (STT) hired Erik Schmidt as Managing Director of Client Services. Schmidt is an industry veteran with two decades of experience in capital markets. Schmidt has previously served in management positions successfully at firms such as Gelber Group, Deutsche Bank AG and Mako Global Derivatives.

Northern Trust landed Christopher Madigan as a senior business development executive for Insurance Solutions, which provides a full suite of services to help insurers drive operational efficiency, enhance investment yields and mitigate risk. Madigan brings more than 25 years of financial industry experience to Northern Trust, most recently in a business development role at State Street Corporation focused on asset managers and members of the insurance sector.

Parametric Portfolio Associates, an affiliate of Eaton Vance Corp, announced three new hires: Gwen Le Berre as Head of Responsible Investing; Benjamin Davis,as Managing Director of Research, equity and factor strategies; and Benjamin Hood, as Director of Research, liquid alternatives, options and futures strategies.

Le Berre replaces Jennifer Sireklove, who, as previously announced, becomes Managing Director, Investment Strategy. She was formerly Director of Investment Stewardship at Charles Schwab Investment Management, Inc. She was previously Vice President, Corporate Governance and Responsible Investment, for BlackRock.

Davis joined from AQR Capital Management where he was Managing Director, Firm-Wide Risk Management. Prior, he was a Quantitative Researcher at Citadel, managing quantitative portfolio construction for global equities.

Based in Minneapolis, Hood also hails from AQR, where he was lead researcher on risk parity portfolio risk models. Since 2016, Mr. Hood has been an Adjunct Lecturer in the Department of Finance at Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota.
