Nasdaq’s Option

Nasdaq, despite industry speculation it would enter the options industry via a deal with the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, is still on a track to establish its own options mart. (See page 10.)

In a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission, Nasdaq stated it would “operate its options market much as it operates its cash equities market.”

Its new market will “differ from most existing options exchanges by, most prominently, offering true price-time priority across all orders and participants rather than differentiating between participant/trading interest classes.”
