On The Move: Brean Capital Hires Hogg to Lead Capital Markets for Debt, Equity

The new role of the Goldman Sachs veteran includes working with institutions to provide financing and asset side services.

Brean Capital is looking to expand its financing and asset side services. The firm has just added Christopher Hogg as the new Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets for both debt and equity transactions.

Hogg spent 23 years with Goldman Sachs as Head of Product Development and Head of FIG Capital Markets. In those roles he responsible for the development of the trust preferred/capital securities product, which became a major capital-raising strategy for banks, insurers and other financial institutions around the world.

The experience and skillsets [Hogg] brings to Brean will help us to better serve our financial institution clients by leveraging off our distribution platform to provide financing, as well as asset side services, said Robert Fine, chief executive officer of Brean Capital.

Hogg has also worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Macquarie Capital and his most recent position was with InCapital working on capital and funding transactions for various financial institutions.
