CBRE Clarion Securities Deploys Charles River IMS

The Pennsylvania investment firm is deploying the trading tools as a hosted service.

Investment advisory firm CBRE Clarion Securities is live on the Charles River Investment Management Solution (IMS).

Clients of CBRE Clarion can now access a suite of tools that cover portfolio management, trading, and compliance across its global equities, options and futures operations. CBRE Clarion is also using Charles River’s broker neutral FIX Network for global electronic trading, integrated data and Compliance Advisory services. Both solutions are delivered as a hosted service, according to a press statement.

Located just outside of Philadelphia, CBRE Clarion was able to replace “several systems with a single platform that could support business growth at a more predictable cost,” according to the statement.

“Having Charles River IMS as a hosted service gives us faster access to the latest capabilities and system expertise,” said Robert McManus, CTO, CBRE Clarion Securities. “Our portfolio managers, traders and compliance teams can be more efficient and derive greater value out of a consolidated system, and the firm benefits from a dedicated team managing the infrastructure and providing 24×7 application support.”

“Most investment firms like CBRE Clarion Securities find it difficult to self-manage systems, given the complexities of technology, poor data and the demands on their internal resources,” said Tom Driscoll, Global Managing Director, Charles River. “Charles River’s software-as-a-service approach increases productivity and end user satisfaction by combining critical decision support tools, quality data and global expertise.”

CBRE Clarion Securities specializes in real assets including listed real estate and infrastructure securities, and is head-quartered near Philadelphia. With more than 85 employees, it has offices in the US, UK, Hong Kong, Japan and Australia.
