Wedbush Securities Names Signorelli Head of Wedbush Futures

Wedbush is bolstering its futures business and has hired a new head to run the group.

Wedbush Futures, a division of Wedbush Securities Inc. and a full-service Futures Commission Merchant (“FCM”) providing futures execution and clearing services, has hired Joe Signorelli as a managing director and Head of Wedbush Futures.

A 29-year veteran in the financial services industry, Signorellis responsibilities include managing a Quantitative Market Strategies division, launching the Wedbush Market Neutral LP hedge fund, and managing development of software used by systematic traders to develop cross-asset class strategies.

Prior to Wedbush, he was the co-founder and CEO of Cactus Trading Systems LLC, which was acquired by Lime Brokerage in 2011. Signorelli spent the prior six years at TD Securities as Managing Director of the QuantStat Trading Group and participated in the firm’s compliance, risk, and executive boards. QuantStat managed a variety of systematic trading strategies, and, for a period of time, was a leading market-maker in the US single stock futures business. Prior to TD, Joe was a Director at Stafford Trading and Partner at Stafford Capital Management, where he focused on market neutral strategies and quantitative trading. He worked in this role from 1997 until 2002, when TD Securities acquired Stafford. From 1987 to 1997, Joe actively traded equity and options at the Chicago Board Options Exchange. He was a member of the Chicago Board Options and the Midwest Stock Exchange, currently known as the Chicago Stock Exchange. He holds the Series 7 and Series 4 licenses.

Joe has served as Managing Director of Wedbush Securities and its subsidiary Lime Brokerage since 2011, and joined Lime Brokerage’s Board of Directors in June 2015.

Concurrently, Carl Gilmore, an executive with Wedbush Futures, is transitioning to a private consulting business.
