UBS Loses Susi

Another senior executive in UBS’ electronic trading group has departed.

Charles Susi, co-head of electronic trading at UBS, has left, Traders Magazine has learned. He is the second top official from UBS to leave the bulge shop’s direct execution, or electronic trading, department this year.

Susi spent five years at UBS, having joined the firm in 2008. He was a well-known figure in the industry, frequently representing the firm at industry conferences and in the press.

Susi—his formal title was global co-head of direct execution—shared responsibility for running the department with Owain Self, now sole head.

Susi’s departure follows that of Scott Stickler in February. Stickler was the global head of UBS’ Quant HQ initiative, which provides trading and other services for systematic, black box traders.

A UBS spokesperson declined to provide more information about Susi’s departure.
