Triad Securities Adds to Prime Brokerage Sales Team

The prime brokerage business is gaining steam, especially for New York-based Triad Securities.

Citing demand for its expanding prime and mini prime brokerage business, Triad has expanded its sales team and added two more people to work with recently hired Scott Daspin.

Daspin came to Triad with two decades of electronic trading experience, including the development of global trading algorithms and strategies. He was most recently at ConvergEx as managing director and head of electronic sales.

Brandi Gatlin has joined the firm as director of institutional sales and trading and Kevin Heal came aboard as director of fixed income sales.

“Triad is continuing to expand its market share in the hedge fund clearing business and clients find the value in our unique model for consensus calls on IPOs and secondaries,” said Larry Goldsmith, president of Triad Securities. “Brandi, Scott and Kevin will be fantastic additions to our team as they work to develop the largest group of new clients Triad has seen in two decades of offering prime services.”

With fully staffed operations and trading areas, Triad is one of few brokerages that has the resources to offer personalized service to emerging managers, Goldsmith added.

Gatlin, a veteran with 15 years of equity research sales and trading experience, was most recently a senior vice president for institutional sales at MLV & Co. She has also held senior positions at Merriman Capital, WJB Capital Group and A.G. Edward & Sons.

Heal, a market pro with 25 years of experience in fixed income sales, was most recently vice president of business development and advisory at Callahan & Associates. He has also served in senior leadership roles at Cohen & Company and BNP Paribas.

Triad Securities Corp was founded in 1976 as a full-service agency only discount brokerage firm.
