TRADERS ON THE MOVE: WEX Hires Lichten to Run Equities and Derivatives Trading

Wolverine Execution Services (WEX) has hired Jason Lichten, as director of equities and listed derivatives trading strategies. Lichten, a 14 year pro, will focus on the growth and distribution of WEX’s electronic listed options and equity trading business. Prior to WEX, he was vice president, electronic trading strategy at RBC. In his previous role, Jason was a key member of RBC’s Market Structure team, where he was responsible for successfully helping to grow RBC’s electronic trading platform and smart-order router, THOR. He reports to Joe Sacchetti, partner at WEX.

Eagle Investment Systems, a provider of financial services technology and a subsidiary of BNY Mellon, promoted Greg Farringtonto head of sales, Americas. Farrington, an 18 year veteran, now takes overall responsibility for the Americas sales team, looking to drive growth in the region. Prior to his 14 years at Eagle, he was a fund accounting manager at Scudder Kemper Investments. y, securing and managing some of the company’s largest sales contracts. He reports to Mal Cullen, managing director, head of the Americas & Eagle ACCESS.

Also at Eagle, John Boggis was promoted to head of sales, Europe, Middle East, Africa & Asia Pacific. Boggis, a 15 year pro, has been with Eagle for four years. Prior to Eagle, he held senior sales roles with SimCorp, FactSet and Thomson Financial. Boggis reports to John Legrand, managing director, head of EMEA and APAC.

UBS has hired Pierre Vermaak for its newly formed FRC team. Vermaak, a 14 year professional, was a former quantitative analyst who served inside Barclays’ fixed income, currencies and commodities unit. While there he spent three years in QALinear, the firm’s Quant Analytic team responsible for “linear” modelling and analytics at Barclays Capital – including swaps pricing, bond- and yield curve analytics. Vermaak replaces Thomas Klocker, former head of algorithmic trading for fixed income, currencies and commodities at UBS. He reports to Chris Purves, global head of electronic trading for FX, rates and credit at UBS.

StockViews, a crowdsourced equity research firm, hired Thomas Beevers as its new CEO. Beevers, a 15 year veteran, was previously at Newton Investment Management, where he spent ten years as a fund manager of European Equities and managed funds in excess of $1 billion.

NewOak has appointed Anastasia Davis Stull to the role of managing director in its Credit Services group, where she will be responsible for business development and execution in the areas of regulatory compliance and risk management for the financial services sector. Stull, a pro with 15 years experience, is based in Washington, D.C. and will help the firm interact with key industry players such as regulatory agencies, trade associations, government-sponsored enterprises and regulatory law firms. Prior to joining NewOak, Stull was a director of compliance for Treliant Risk Advisors in New York focusing on its international banking practice. In addition to her role at NewOak, she currently serves as the 36th president of Women in Housing & Finance, the nonprofit organization that provides an open forum for key policymakers and industry experts on national financial, economic and political matters affecting the fields of financial services and housing.
