TRADERS ON THE MOVE: KCG Gets CTO, HFT Firm Lands UBS Exec and Goldman Hires EMEA Leaders

KCG has hired Josh Schubkegel as a senior technology officer. Schubkegel, an 18 year veteran, was previously the chief technology officer for REDI Global Technologies. His departure comes after serving the last three years at REDI alongside Rishi Nangalia, the firm’s chief executive. Both stayed with REDI after its spinoff from Goldman Sachs in 2012. Schubkegel has worked at Bridgewater Associates LP and UBS Group.

Amsterdam-based high frequency trading firm IMC Financial Markets has hired Sam Yudelovitch as director of equity client services. Based in Chicago, 16-year veteran Yudelovitch came from UBS where he spent five years and served as head of sales for its dark pool. He also worked at Island ECN, Market XT and began his career at Instinet.

The firm also hired Paul Jiganti, formerly of TD Ameritrade, who will focus on options trading. Jiganti, a pro with 23 years of experience, was TD’s Lead strategy on market structure and exchange issues for retail clients since July 2012, replacing Christopher Nagy, who left to found KOR Trading. He has worked at Nasdaq and Susquehanna.

Goldman Sachs has hired Ralston Roberts to be co-head of its electronic execution group in EMEA along with Justin Brickwood, Roberts, a 16 year professional, will start in August and came from SunGard where he was most recently the chief operating officer. He spent 11 years at SunGard. Before that, he was the chief technology officer at Wells Fargo Securities for four years.

Both Roberts and Brickwood report to Raj Mahajan, hired earlier this year from Allston Trading as global head of equity electronic execution.

The CME has parted ways with its head of sales for CME Europe Dan Hinxman just six months after he was appointed to that position. Hinxman, who left for an unspecified role at BCG, was made head of sales and commercial development at CME in January this year, before that serving as a senior director for hedge funds.

Global Liquidity Partners, a RedBank N.J.-based technology trading firm, has hired industry pro Peter Cocuzzafor its institutional sales and business development group. Cocuzza, with nearly 30 years in the trading business, is charged with introducing, expanding and developing senior client relationships with firms across various aspects of the financial services industry, specifically in equities trading. He has both sell- and buy-side experience: most recently he worked at Vandham Securties.He also worked at Oppenheimer Funds as a buyside senior equity trader, Stone Toro Asset Management and started his career as a sales trader at PaineWebber.
