TRADERS ON THE MOVE: Brean Capital Hires Pair of Sales Traders, Rizm Adds VP

Brean Capital has hired sales traders William Daley and Jim Morris for its Boston office as the firm continues to build its equity platform. Daley, with over 15 years of experience, will be the senior sales trader in the office. He comes from Weeden & Company and headed the Boston office at Deutsche Bank.

Morris, also a veteran with over 15 years trading expierence, will cover the technology sector. He came from Needham & Co., where he sent the last nine years both on its derivatives desk and as a senior sector trader on their equity trading desk. Prior to Needham, Morris had also spent 14 years with Merrill Lynch, five years on the systems side and then nine years trading in their Equities division both in the Technology and Consumer sectors. They report to Roberto Friedlander, head of equity trading and sales.

Trading technology vendor Rizm has hired Jamie Oschefski as its vice president of sales. Oschefski, a 12 year veteran, has been brought on by the firm to sell its web-based trading application that provides users with the ability to create, back-test, simulate, and launch complex trading algorithms without any programming or high-level mathematical knowledge. Prior to Rizm, he was head of accounts at boutique technology firm Quantica Trading. Before that, Oschefski was a futures and equities trader at DV Trading.

Metamako, a supplier of ultra-low-latency devices to exchanges and the trading community, has hired Ciaran Kennedy as its head of business development and to run its newly opened New York office. Kennedy, a pro with over a decade of business experience, came from NYSE technologies Wombat group where he was chief operating officer.
